Is it just a diorama they made to display the figures, or are they handling these figure like Hot Wheel cars? As in it looks like a figure dispensor.

Yeah it'll require hving a lot of extra hands to make these worth anything. All the hands will have to be cut off and the extra articulation needed to make them worth anything will limit me from getting too many of them. Which technically is a good thing.

Since the rest of the diorama looks to be made from an old computer case, I'd say that's just a couple of lazy susans or something stacked on each other.

Looks like alot of DC goodies coming this fall, Hawkmen, Luthor, Green Arrow 3pks, I can't believe how they did Killer Croc, he's awesome looking, of course we're getting TRU exclusives, not to bad, there is promise with this line, but only until Hasbro comes out with the 3 3/4 inch marvel shizzy.

I'm not a DC comics fan, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Who is the guy in the suit with a blank face? Is he just a prototype lacking a face sculpt or an actual character?

The Question, a superhero concerned with conspiracy theories. Typically associated with Batman and his supporting cast. Originally Vic Sage was the Question, and the figures in the link are based on him. Among other things, he had a shakey alliance with Birds of Prey member Huntress, a Gotham-based hero who is begrudgingly accepted by Batman over the course of her career.

Recently, however, he turned over the mantle to Renee Montoya, Gotham PD's resident lesbian, who once had a romantic relationship with Kate Kane, the current Batwoman.

So the Question is pretty heavily entrenche in Bat-continuity. Just the less memorable parts.

/Rant

That said, I'm thinking I might be a "Big 7 and females only" collector here. Girls won't look so awfully out-of-scale, and the proportions look prettier without GIJoe's complex leg articulation. We're being promised a nice range of girlies too, so it'll make a nice little display. Other than that, the Justice League and whatever villians are large enough to be proper 4" scale will be all for me, thanks!

I saw the first wave at the TRU in Wayne yesterday or the day before and they are terrible! A complete waste of money. They have lackluster sculpting, are way too short (I'm talking "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" by Zizzle short here :( ), and lack even the simplest of accessories.

Big pass here unless they get better fast (the upcoming females look to have better sculpting and their height won't be much of an issue due to women generally being shorter than men on average).

Well, I picked up my Adam Strange from Liftoff about an hour ago, and I was prescient in saying this line is strictly custom fodder. I was wrong about them being excessively puny, at least in Adam's case altho I think the big guys like Shazam and Supes are going to be noticeably puny. Adam's basically the same size as BnB Edge and I'll likely be grafting his head and jetpack harness onto that fig to make a proper Adam Strange figure.

The Adam fig does have very nice, vibrant colors and great proportioning. But the lack of any significant articulation just kills any chance these figs had of being worth a damn. I think that diopic from SDCC is very telling of how lame these figs are in that every single one of them are simply standing there.

A little OT here but these figs aren't short. POTC isn't short. WWE BnB isn't short.

It's our Joes that're tall.

Seriously. Especially the 25A. WWE, POTC, & DC are just about the same height when placed beside classic sculpt Joes or VvV Joes. It's just the 25As that're too tall.

I'm not so sure about those. I thought some of the female prototypes actually had elbow articulation. It doesn't look like these have any at all. Then PowerGirl seems to have her "assets" erased. Instead there is just a spot of paint there! WTF! Toy Fair proto refresher pics: http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=267&itemid=12573

I agree with you that the articulation makes a dio pretty useless but as cheap as these figs are I can't give a rat's ass how articulated they are. I love em. They're joe scaled and they at least have knees, elbows, and shoulders. I can make that work.

I'll support the line solely for the fact that the first wave has almost no fan wank characters in it. :-D

I think Hal Jordan and the females are all I'll get in this line. I'm not one to mix and superheroes in with my Joes so they'll get thier own display area or be used for fodder.

Whelp, Mattel won't even let me have custom fodder from the frickin' line. I was cutting Adam's head off, and found a seperate post connecting between the head and the torso halves, similar to the one the Showdown figs had and of similar toughness. So I'm cutting with my trusty x-acto and the post suddently gives way and Adam's head goes flying Bob knows where. So, I traded Liftoff a HISS Driver for a MFing rocketpack.

Thanks a whole MFing lot, Mattel, you worthless asshat bastards.

Seems like PG is a whole new sculpt with maybe just the head being the same. She's now v-crotched (because you know how everyone loves those even more than t-crotches) and has fists instead of karate chop hands. Even the cape is different.

Just got a Gordon GCPD set...well the coat will get some use...Gordo is the same size as the pocket Bruce Wayne- the head is a fraction bigger (fuller) than Wil Bill's head ....the hands are too big for the head...the face reminds me of Eric Roberts ...the Swat Guys look like the Chap Mei knock offs you see a dollar store yellowish hands ...the neck is a swivel (like the speed racer figures) I would consider another Gordon as a back ground civie and I might look at the Superman/ Wonder Girl/ Supergirl but I have to say it's not that good

yet all of the male figures have the same body sculpt just slight variations for cape/collar, etc.

interestingly, the gotham 3pack has guns for the cops. since they can't super punch fly or kick anyone lol. just be, um, fodder.

Sounds like a fair trade to me. :-D Remind me and you can have my Adam Strange head. I think that a Serpy helmet would look about the same and I will try that for my custom.
