So a few months ago, The Pros from Dover challenged me to make Major Bludd in way that he's simply never been done before.

Quote:
I want to see you do a modern/realistic update on Bludd.

Bring Bludd into the 21st century showing what a badass Aussie bastard his filecard made him out to be!

As a HUGE fan of Bludd, I snapped up the gauntlet of the challenge just to stretch my creativity and see how bloody far away from the establish looks of ol' Sebastian I could possibly get. It took me a bit of time to figure out how I wanted him to look in the new ultra modern style for my 'verse. And THEN once I started on the figure, SGCaper kindly made a brand new hand cannon for my very bad man version to kill everything in his path with, to really top off this whole new spin on the first merc in the Cobra mythos.

so, with no more ado, I give you the All New, All Different BLUDD!

That works, he looks like he is younger and before his arm mechanics, with that new arm cannon that's probably why he has the arm mechanics now, :-P

Nice job on him, that color camo scheme works well, nice work.

This is one of the best updated looks I've seen. I like the more military approach to him. Another winner, JD. :-D

Nice beret is that custom?

:) I think the arm cannon is the reason he has a prosthetic, also, J.

LOVE the updated look you chose! You did an excellent job pulling it off and SGC's gun is icing on the cake.

Let me start by saying I like it. I think if he showed up in the movie he'd look something like this early on. Very real world look to him and you pulled off the foreign camo look nicely. That hand cannon is perfect. I like the coloring on the rocket too.

With that said I think, for me, it seems too much of a prequel look for him. I'm just so used to the brown uniform for him. Something that is just on the other side of releastic. A guy whose ego is so big and has such a large chip on his shoulder that he doesn't do anything the conventional way. You answered the challenge with a great custom though.

This is a fresh direction for Major Bludd. This has a "down and dirty" look to it that I really like. Cool choice with the beret, too.

Great work! I get a Lt. Bludd vibe from him, with the younger look. Now lets see the cannon damaged arm variant :shifty: .

By the way, what ever happened to Pros from Dover? Haven't seen or heard about him in awhile.

It's awesome you guys like it.

Yeah, it's really different and it's somewhat difficult to really see Major Bludd looking this way because his signature look is SO iconic but I'm immensely proud of this figure. He's not going to wear this get-up all the time in my 'verse, no, I'm really partial to his original helmet and brown fatigues that the Extreme Conditions version gave us (and I'm really looking forward to the Sunbow version too) but this is definitely good for an "Elseworlds" or Reloaded setting I think.

And yes, Simon, the beret IS sculpted on his head. :-D

Stop with the lies! Its time I came clean, in addition to being narceron and segnett, and possibly Beav(if we believe Hogan), I'm also the Pros from Dover.

:)

Wait, prequel Bludd?

Cool.

You know, I never noticed before now how much that Bludd head looks like Ben Stiller.

That aside, I agree that this has a Young Bludd feel, and that's pretty cool. I love berets on Bludd, so that's also cool. And the Camo paint looks great.

My only critique involves the stuff he's got going on along the front of his vest. The idea is solid but the execution seems a bit rough hewn. Either those pieces need some smoothing out or the paint on them does.

Love the gun.

He's very cool. I don't think of blood when I look at it but that dosen't take away from the cool factor.
