As always Kev, your customs are top notch. Solid mods, Slick paint, and an eye for details and stickers that really put the finishing touches on making a custom look production.

You mentioned having had the Flagg Deck Crane as part of one of your Mock-ups for a BRV....I think you could totaly pull that off on somthing like this. It'd give your BRV the ability to pick up vehicle parts that can't be winched up the ramp and add a bit more weight to the trailor. It'd also keep your BRV from looking like a stretched Road Toad.

There's somthing a little akward about the Tractor vehicle...but It's prolly more my perception than anything else....I'm just not used to seeing a Hiss with the extended back end...It almost looks like the Main hiss Chassis slid forward on the Frame to allow the trailor to hitch up. I'm glad you kept the Guns and shape of the back of the Hiss though...I've seen a number of "flat bed Hiss" customs where they've just cut down the back end of a Hiss and it really dosn't look all that great.

I do like Darko's idea of using one of the Bigger Hisses for a larger Tractor...but I think you'd want a larger trailor to go with that then too. Either the Hiss II or the DTC Hiss could provide solid bases...and you could sack some of the Troop Carrier ability for a bit of room to hold the 5th wheel.

Thanks for all your praise, guys! I'm going to try to hit the questions all at once in one long, badly cut-and-pasted mess...

nice.. can y ou show us how you took apart the hiss tank?

I can try to take some pics next time I tear one apart, but it isn't too tricky, just a little hard due to the strength of the parts holding the tank together. Sometimes, they break during disassembly.

WOW! I love this setup!! Very nice work! You do some killer stuff. I love the wheeled HISS, you pulled it off perfectly. And I like how the damaged HISS is actually missing the track on one side, looks very real.

Thanks, that battle damaged HISS is an older custom, I posted it on CommandoCustoms waayyyy back. I had been tracking down some of the old Tamiya Model kits that some designers used in the development of the first few year's vehicles, and I had found the Russian Tank that had the HISS tank's bogey wheels. Having those parts helped me flesh the battle damaged, treadless side, out.

That HISS is actually used as the Customs avatar for the SITE THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED..... :shifty:

By the way, how did you do the spider-web break effect on the windshield of the damaged HISS? Is it a decal or did you actually get it to break that perfectly?

Narcerneon was close. I drilled a hole, then etched a loose pattern on the canopy around each hole using the dremel bit. Then I cut the lines into place using an exacto. I also shot out a lot of windows in my house and car to really get some good real life images that I could use for reference.

YOU.... :shifty:...ALWAYS YOU....Isn't there a half naked McFarlane figure out there, somewhere, with boobs that you could be glueing Crystal Ball heads onto?

:-D

That crane was WAAAAYYYYYY too big for this rig, even as big as it looks. It extended over the rear of the deck. I actually did try it, because I could cut out the crane's engine cover and make a place for a guy to sit.

That's exactly what it is. Get glasses.

It is a little long, but the tractor vehicle was long, and flat fronted, where as the HISS was a little short, and the front extends well over the reads. The cab is actually a little bit more centered than a regular HISS normally is.

Uhhh, yeah. Yeah, I did one of those. Styrened out the back and everything. I was pretty proud of it. You said you liked it back then, in 2006, at New Orleans. Thanks for lying to me. You always make me cry.

:rotfl:

Seriously though, thanks everyone for thier kind comments. I don't show too much of my stuff off anymore, but the inviting comments and friendly people here, as well as CC's relaunch, are making me want to get to taking some pics and showing a little more.

I love the idea behind this. Something like this would seem so essential and practical. Good vision on your part.

Certainly nice work, and very smooth blending of the parts. I do hope that you will continue to post more and more of your customs here. I have enjoyed this one a lot.
