anyone know of a good source for a pith helmet? I know I've seen one somewhere but now that I need it for a custom I can't remember where...

What about the Sgt. Misha hat (Oktober guard comic pack)?

thanks for the replies, that chap-mei guy was what I was thinking of (must have been wearing my rose-tinted lenses that day). Sgt. Misha was my first thought but then I looked at it on yojoe archive and it's not actually a pith helmet but more of some type of jungle hat or something. Looks like I'm gonna have to attempt scratchbuilding one... :-/

I know they're generally far too small and too simplistic, but there is a Lego Minifig pith helmet.

I think I may have one as well. Do I smell a Belloq custom coming?! (Though I could be just smelling myself!)

I echo the Misha helmet. That was my first thoughts when I saw it on the figure.

When I was working on my entry for the Adventure Team GP I made a quick clay mold cast of the chap mei figure on the right.

Because I dipped the head in while the casting material was drying I made it so it fits the 40th Anniversary head perfectly.

However, if that didn't work, my back up plan was to turn the Sgt. Misha hat backwards and use that. It is close enough that it looks right.

thanks for all the replies on this! Pluv's post is the guy I was thinking of. Ditch the stache and monocle and it's like chap mei was making a caricature of Goering off to hunt Karinhall... :shifty:

is Biglots my best shot for tracking him down?
