A black and yellow SAS Vamp would be easy to do, and while it isn't a dead on look, a red Snow Cat (hopefully with a new windshield) could be a cool Shadowtrak stand in. I don't see them doing another HISS either. . . . . a red Persuader with Red Jackal however . . . .

So this is what i think the hints refer to

2009 3.75" convention set hints:

this is a general hint and refers to the RED SHADOWS IN GENERAL

this is the BLACK MAJOR

THIS IS BARON IRON BLOOD

"We battle in foreign lands but NOT in the shadows.

this is the RED SHADOW TROOP BUILDERS that we will be getting

Ok you'll have to explain this to me. How does seeing a reflection and someone not weraring black = Black Major? That seems like a huge leap.

The same with Baron Iron Blood. Maybe the "our own army" menas it is the person in control of the Red Shadows which would make sense. But that means the first part of that hint is a throw away line.

I coudl be wrong and these could be dead on. I'm just not seeing the connection.

As for vehicles, I'd guess the HAL with some repaint of CC as Red Laser,

I'm thinking Action Force vs. SKAR (from G.I. Joe Extreme) more and more. Action Force would fulfill the foreign aspect of the set, as well as the figures that "bend more" but since that clue specifically says NOT in the shadows, I'm still thinking the Red Shadows are not it. SKAR would also fulfill the "bend more" part of the clues... plus... notpicard also posted the following info in the comments on GeneralsJoes:

My guess is well get a black major wearing red and perhaps a name change ala Wilder Vaughn who was revealed to be the Black Major in the DDP comics ( or at least hinted at)

2nd one, Baron Iron blood was ( and I hate this part of Action Force) Cobra commander, the club is hinting at that, whether they retcon that ( I hope they do ) or not , well see

In the Action Force comics, the Black Major was a former member of Action Force who had been brainwashed by the Baron. So, his reflection he sees could be his pre-Black Major self.

I still think everyone is reading too much into it, to make it what they want it to be. I would be very surprised if it was Red Shadows. As I've said before, I think its popularity is vastly overestimated. And as much as I don't think I want to see it, I think you could interpret the clues to read Tomax/Xamot/CGs as well, at least with the same certainty.



Tomz/Xamot were foreign, they are old in the sense that they've been around for a while, but in some sort of CG outfit would be something new and nothing blue.

These two just scream Tomax/Xamot, probably more so than any other established characters, at this point.



Again, they battle in foreign lands, and the shadows could be a reference to the Shadow Guard. The now we bend more part is kinda odd, but they were circus acrobats before joining Cobra. Still not sure how that would relate-honestly, I think that part may be the strongest clue to Red Shadows/AF than anything else we've gotten yet.
Of course, it could also mean they are going to surprise us and these sets are going to be 25th type figures. That would probably be most shocking of all, as well as highly unlikely, at this point.

I'm not saying the set is going to be one or the other (although I would lean to CGs out of those two choices) I'm just saying there is at least just as strong of an argument that is could be some sort of Tomax/Xamot based set, before you even consider the actual popularity of either faction.

I have no clue. I always just wait until they play their little game and finally show them all. Then I decide if I like it. If it's just Tomax/Xamot and a bunch of Crimson Guards or something like that, I won't care for it. If it actually does turn out to be Red Shadows and all that, I might like it. I might even get it even if I can't go to the convention if it is that and looks good. I'm not exactly an Action Force fan or anything, but it would be something different enough that I'd probably want it.

Oh crap. Seriously it could be a Street Fighter angle also. Shadowloo is in street fighter, there's also the Ryu/Evil Ryu characters in the Street Fighter series. Vega wore a mask. So there are a few different ways people could see a mirror image also.

But I would like to get a red jackal figure more than those (admittedly reading the SF comics does pick up my interest though).
