I haven't seen any of these in the wild yet, then again I haven't been looking very hard. I'm tempted by a few of the figures on looks alone. I don't really read Marvel (or DC) comics, so I am completely unfamiliar with the characters beyond the stars like Spidey. And at $8 per, I do not need to be starting up a new collection at this point. I may grab one or two on a whim, but these days my toy buying is restricted to "must-have" rather than my old approach of "that looks cool, why not?".

Well they have only started to show up in a few stores so far so they are still a bit hard to find. With the distribution being a bit a slow when they do show up somewhere they get picked over fast so until more of them are on more shelves it's going to be hard to just get the good ones.

But yea at $8 and not much extra packed in I'm not going for the completest thing on the line either. Okay that and Hasbro loves the multi-pack thing so I'm bit worried that if I pick up a figure now in a year I'll have to buy the same figure several more times in a 3, 5, 7, or whatever pack Hasbro comes up with.

I've just got an odd feeling Spidey and Wolvie are going to be the Duke and Snake Eyes of the line.

Ya think? :-) The one Wolverine I saw, while in a traditionally-designed uniform, was colored in grey and black, something I've never seen in the comics (although I could have easily missed it) and came with a rifle that had to have been transplanted over from G.I.Joe.

They saved the brown and yellow Wolvie costumes for the Wolverine line. The grey one is IMHO a superior sculpt though.

Somone posted it was an xforce costume.

That's his X-Force outfit Trek, and I can understand you missing it as the series was worth less than the paper for the figure. I thought it was an interesting look.

Yet again a decent brown costume is coming in a comic pack for secret wars, gotta love how hasbro improves things for multipacks later. Thus I am passing on the Origins Brown costume. Just something odd about the figure.

But I agree on the gun, wasn't needed. Would have rather have had something like replaceable hands both claws out and in, that would have been interesting.

Okay, X-Force, yeah. I gave up on the X-universe even before I gave up on the rest of Marvel. Seriously, if you didn't read every freakin' title with an X in its prefix or a mutant as its star, you were going to miss out on something, enough was enough.

As far as I'm concerned, the last really decent X-titles were the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline, and a stand-alone issue of Cable where he encountered a rather long-lived Neanderthal man who was running a roadside diner.

Part of my problem with AOA was that it seemed like an extended version of "Days of future past." Not that I thought it was terrible, but the whole time I was reading it I was thinking that.

I really miss the Claremount days of X-Men, I know he came back but he didn't have the flavor he had from the old days.

That and so much stuff he was doing was ruined. ie Mr Sinister was going to be a projection from a child's imagination, thus his name made sence. Also why he kept coming back after being destroyed. I just felt that fit so much better than being the thrall of Apoc.

OH and Bishop was the original trator of the X-men, that worked better for me too (much much more than Onslaught.

I have to say.. there was no way that I wasn't going to love this line.

The nearly 50 4 inch scale Marvel customs on my shelf attest to that.

I'm not saying the line is flawless. My Bullseye's chin seemed to never have been touched by paint. Everyone knows the problem with wave 1 Punisher. Panther's legs are more loose than I'd desire (but mine is by no means floppy like a MLShowdown figure).
Overall this is a great new line. And it looks to be getting better.

I thought the choice of launching with X-Force (it is safe to say it is considered by most x-fans to be the best x-title right now) Wolverine was pretty inspired. He's probably my second favorite figure after Black Panther (that's mostly because he's the first Black Panther figure I've ever had).

I like the effort Hasbro is putting into the website for the line and the files included with the figures. In the universe of the toyline they actually bothered to explain WHY Ultimates Captain America was done first.

Are you going to be buying X-men Forever? It's the new monthly by Claremont picking up directly after X-men #3.

My Target finally got wave 1 & 2 in. I think they got revision wave 1, the one without Bullseye. :-x
Someone already bought Cap so nothing else that interested me was left.

Not to diverge any further from the topic than we already have, but I have to say it's been a long time since I've been impressed with anything Claremont has done. I feel he stayed way too long with the X-Men and started to bring far too much weirdness in (starting with Dracula), and most recently, thoroughly ruined the Exiles title.

In my opinion, the guy is to X-Men what Michael Eisner was to Disney, and Rick Berman to Star Trek -- somebody who was talented, but who stayed too long and started believing too much of his own hype.

Going by what has been listed so far for releases you can see how the characters stack up in how many releases each character gets http://forums.marvelousnews.com/index.php?showtopic=2054762

Looks like we are getting Spiderman 4 times and with his movie line Wolverine is getting about 13 releases in various costumes if you also count in Weapon X as a Wolverine figure.

That and the line is looking really hero heavy right now so I hope they are just holding back some of the villains to show off at Comic Con since retailers seem more about the heroes but geeks love their bad boys and bad girls.

In all fairness I tend to agree, While I liked his version of Aliens vs. Predator, I haven't seen much to be impressed with since then. Sometimes on X-men he did drag a plotline out too (How long was madyline hanging with the x-folks before cyke finally found out, like years and years). Still he did alot of GREAT X-men Stories (Days of Future Past, God Loves, Man Kills, Mutant Massicare, Inferno)

On drac, I can see a point, but too he was a regular in the Marvel universe at the time, and honestly I love the sceane where wolvie tries to hold him off with crossing his claws and drac laughs at him.
