Some of the gems are the non-chain restaurants. Flint and I ate at "Port Clinton Hotel"...food was great, and serving sizes were excellent.
Among the chain restaurants listed, Ruby Tuesday still sounds like the best choice. It has the bar/pub style setting we've enjoyed in the past. The Tri-State Vipers traditionally eat at Ruby Tuesday after the Connecticut G.I. Joe Show. Violentfix is a chef by profession (i.e., tough food critic) and he praises the food at Ruby Tuesday. Pizza Hut and Friendly's could work, but they don't accommodate large parties as well as Ruby Tuesday.
I am pretty biased in favor of chain restaurants for a number of reasons, such as free refills, you know basically what you're going to get if you order the same item at two different restaurants of the same chain, and the "corporate" hierarchy to which you can complain if something is wrong. Plus there's my Web site that I run with my wife:
www.restaurantchainlinks.net <shameless plug>.
However, assuming Pottsville is the next location for our picnic, if the majority of folks going out to dinner would rather eat somewhere other than Ruby Tuesday, I'll go along with it.
