okay so this guy has 8 venezualan ripcords, he's selling them in pairs on myspace, i think yesterday he had the listing at starting price 2$ for 3 bucks shipping, then today there at starting price i think 99cents, and 7 dollars shipping, they're loose btw, oh and the guys are complete, but as we know the parts to those ripcords aren't worth a damn.

so i send him a message asking if he'd do the 8 for 16 bucks with shipping.

he writes back, well if you mean 7 dollars times the four sets plus the 16, 44$ total, alright i'll do that.

so i say, nah dude, these are the venezualan ones, i'll do maybe 20 total for them.

he writes back this nonsense, the guy has a 16 rating btw

"see on ebay you make profit from shipping. So tell me how much are you willing to pay in total (your quote for shipping + sale price). The shipping price is the minimum profit a seller wants to make, then comes shipping + listing price that a seller wants to cover.

I don't get his "you make a profit off of shipping" comment. That's the point of ebay...you make a profit off what you are selling...morons

I had a guy do something similar. I bought some MOC stuff, but asked him to ship them loose to cut down shipping. He never replied back, so I paid the $7 shipping and handling. When I got the package, the items were loose and shipping was just a few bucks. I contacted him and he said something similar to "make profit on shipping."

I redirected him to ebay's shipping price policy, and he refunded my $5. I think he was just uniformed.

Shipping is not figured into eBay's fees,. so if the seller can make a little profit on shipping they will.

He'll get burned on his DSR's for doing that. I give 5 stars for $2-$3 over actual cost, which is completely reasonable, but there are people who don't understand dsr's and ding shipping cost when it's FREE.

Back to the thread though...some sellers I ran into frequently increase shipping cost to get more for the auction. Not everyone plays honest so it is buyer beware.

Unless you really want those Ripcords, just pass on them.

i didn't even reply back, i figured with the last comment about all joes being equal including those venezualan or whatever they are, it wasn't worth it. You put a damn gun in there hands and the finger drops off, it's ridiculous.
