This custom is of Bruce Willis as Lt. A.K. Waters from the movie, TEARS OF THE SUN, which to me was one of Willis' finest performances.

Head- Flint 94
Torso- Leatherneck 93 w/ Cross Hair 03 vest
Arms- Leatherneck 86
Waist- Leatherneck 86
Upper Legs- Leatherneck 86
Lower Legs- Recondo 84
M4- Power Team Elite

I made this custom this past summer but never got around to posting him. One interesting production note is that I fused Cross Hair's vest to Leatherneck's torso by trimming it down slightly so it would fit better using the molded on harness already on Leatherneck as a guide. Truned out better than I expected. I have a few other projects in the works using this same method with other removable vests.

You make it incredibly hard for me to "lurk" when you post customs like this. It's almost like Christmas morning when LIVEVIL posts a custom. You and sgartz inspire me to no end. I have to comment!

This is such a piece of art. Awesome movie and awesome custom. What you did with the Flint head is amazing. The attention to detail is top notch. I never would have thought to fuse a Crosshairs vest to an ARAH torso. Excellent job on the eyes and head. Camo is great, too. Trust me...I examine your camo and sgartz's...well, way too much. I think I have gotten a lot better at it. When I post my Flint, you'll have to let me know.

I won't go into a full fledged ARAH praise here, but everyone has to admit that this is a damn good custom...which happens to use ARAH parts.

I thought I was looking at a BBi figure with an ARAh head on it. That vest looks like it was sculpted on. That is a nifty idea right there.

The camo paint is of course top notch. The changes to the head is mind boggling. Good use of parts and great modifications to disguise them.

I can't argue with the character choice either. That was a great movie and he Willis did a good job in it. Certainly a character worthy of being a Joe.

ah finally something to critique on a livevil custom

The figure is awesome, that is not even in doubt. The only problem is from the first two angles he doesn't look like Willis. He looks like the character if the character had no actor likeness, especially when you explain who it is based on, but from certain angles i don't see Willis.

From one or two I do but not from the others.

An interesting exercise would be, for the future of course, is if you are putting up a name character or something, where there are no really distinguishing uniform traits (i.e. it looks like a regular military uniform not giving away who it is) then just post a generic title and see if people can guess who it is, and that would be interesting. I say that only because hey it may just be me and my perception of the way the character looks.

Pluv said a mothful right there. An awesome looking figure. Wow. A lot of praise has already been given, but I am jsut as amazed at how well the parts flow together, it has a modern action figure feel to it, like a BBi figure would have. The fact that its ARAH only shows what can be done in the right hands. The camo is top notch as always. I like the backdrop used for the photo, it adds so much realism to the character.

I can see Bruce in that head, an older Bruce, but I think he was a little heavier in that Tears of the Sun than most of us remember him.

I don't think it looks like Bruce but I do think it's damn cool.
