I figured the kids here would appreciate this...

This morning I'm driving in, and laying in the middle of the street I see a large 1980s GIJOE box flying around. My first thought is that the thrashed Terror Drome box I threw out the other day had fallen out of the garbage truck and was now fighting for its very survival against traffic.

Nope! It was a 1984 WHALE box flopping around.

Nothing something you see everyday, but certainly amusing!

You were driving around and a Whale box was flying around... what do you drive, a time machine?

Cool story.

I had a similar experience. This one time, when I was fishing in the river, a MIB Flagg came along.......... :rotfl:

I still have my original Terror Drome box. For years it's been used to store almost my entire MOTU collection, including Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain. It's in atrocious shape these days. I was out digging thru the storage building the other day and had to load the whole conflagration into an even larger cardboard box to keep the little pieces from falling out thru the bottom.

Circa 2000, I had a buddy who spotted a near mint 1984 WHALE box in somebody's front yard, sitting with some trash bags awaiting pickup. We went out with a third friend who was actually dispatched to retrieve the box, as he was the lighter on his feet than we. I must've punked out, I guess.

When he brought the box back, he was disappointed and/or annoyed that the box was EMPTY. Even tho we knew it all along! I still have it to this day.

Not nearly as impressive a story, but there's a collectibles toy store I like to visit whenever I'm in Cleveland. I went in one day, and there was a Vamp Mk II box sitting on top of a box of cardboard boxes and spent packaging right by the door ready to be carried out to the dumpster. I asked the guy if he was throwing it out and he said yeah and that I could have it. Blew my frikin mind. These guys should have known better. There wasn't anything wrong with the box!

I live 700 miles away - its almost like it was destiny for me to walk in at that moment.

Afterwards I had lunch in Little Italy and I swear the old lady mom from Everybody Loves Raymond was sitting next to me in the court yard.

Pinky Dinky Do. Sorry Toddler at home. And speaking of MOTU I saw a Greyskull box on the curb a few weeks ago.

Yep, yep! I've cleaned out the fridge many times since 2006 :shifty:

But, I always leave the corn dogs, as some sort of personal souvenir of the great Joe Con on '06.

CJack is going to be over on Thursday. He says he's going to eat your corn dogs. I think he's got other plans for them, personally.
