ok who hope G.I. Joe Resolute cartoon dose well to have them make more eps. it would be nice to see a good cartoon backing up the toys agin. we have not had a good one since the 80s. i think if it dose well joes will do even better.

i think that is one reason hasbro realy dosent care about joes that much anymore. they dont have the fan base like TF or SW. witch have had some kind of tv/movie to back them. to keep ppl involved in the toys.

hasbro killed S6 with the size and cartoon. VvV had a wacked movie.

I am all about some new cartoons. :-D I've been watching the ones from the 80's for to long.Don't get me wrong,I love the sunbow stuff. But it's a little hard to swallow the plots now that I am an "adult". :shifty:
I am looking forward to Resolute's release and I hope it is everything I've heard it is.

I'd say the movie is more important, because of what it can do for the toy budget, but yes a cartoon like resolute is important in the sense that its success with teh older audience to which it is geared will provide a backbone to more adult themed toys (i.e. no rocket launchers or other similar nonsense).

I want a good cartoon simply to have a good cartoon. I really don't care how it affects the toys.

well, one isse that may plague this is that its an "adult" cartoon, so its targeting former joe fans who are our age, and this are the same collectors who are buying the toys now. SO it may not effect any raise in figure sales.

However, the cartoon may definetly bring in new awareness of G.I.joe. that combined with the Movie may help the franchise.

as for me personally I agree with Matthew. I just wanna see a good, entertaining cartoon.

This hasn't been confirmed yet, but according to TVGuide.com, there is a listing for G.I. Joe for Friday April 24th on Cartoon Network from 9:00pm to 10:00pm! It's also available through Comcast DVR for recording on that date.

The cartoon is going to rock, and thank goodness because the Joe line is doing well but it could always use a jump start.

I just hope its a good toon period. Is Warren Ellis still on this, cause that makes me take a step back with they way he has demolished Astonishing X-men.

But the franchise is in sore need of some good media. The Spy Troops and VvV toons sucked (dispite what people tried to claim at the time). I am sure some will say they love it no matter how good or bad it is, and some will say they hate it no matter how good or bad it is. The same will happen with the movie when it hits.

Best thing to do is judge it for our own personal tastes and after the dust settles see what the concenous is, even then it will take time to figure it all out.

Looks like I'm agreeing with several people on a lot of different points.

The movie right now seems like it will be the big push to get Joe and Cobra back into the hands of kids so that's where we have to put most of our hope.

Of course if Resolute ends up being a good cartoon then that might be a way to get people excited now about GI Joe again. Something to say the world of GI Joe is cool even before we get a full length trailer at the movies. Build some buzz as they say in Hollywood.

Plus it would be great to have a good cartoon again. Not a lot of really great cartoons on the air these days so adding another one sure couldn't hurt my entertainment line up. I just can't afford comic books right now so it would also be a bonus for me of having something GI Joe related without having to wait until the end of the summer.

I'm more excited about the prospect of more Resolute figures. I'd especially like to see Shipwreck, Flint, Scarlett, Stalker and Snake Eyes in their Resolute designs.

The preview shot that I saw from some magazine online made all those designs look really cool. Unlike the movie, where each character is wearing a similar uniform (blah) the Resolute designs seem to take the classic designs and amp them up a bit.

I'd love to see an alternate take on Flint that pays homage and updates the look. Same goes for Stalker. But I was really looking forward to a new sculpt Scarlett figure that tones down some of the goofier aspects of her 82 design while paying homage to the look (which is exactly what the Resolute design did).

The cartoon could be awesome, though. Transformers Animated is a real winner, and a GI Joe show of that caliber would be great.
