Good idea apac. Let's do it now. If you guys want, start a new thread.

But here is mine:
Vintage green Blanka's left arm
25th Trakker
25th Eel
Cobra Comic issue #1 (Chuckles is on it and it just came out)
Maybe the DVD sets with the figures ... Alpine, Dusty and Quick Kick
Are the DC Universe figures available in your area? Let me know, I need a few.

Plenty of parking out back, yes there is a microwave, and the hall itself wiil hold 50-60 people. Round tables and chairs are supplied with a couple of rectangle ones there also.

Millsy,

Thanks for the quick response. All of that info sounds good.

Have you had a chance to take any pictures yet?

Nice! I'll make sure to allocate time in the itinerary. How much time do you think you'll need for your tutorial?

10-15 minutes tops

Ok, great. I have tentative times penciled in for both your and MacGyver's demonstrations.

I'll plan to bring a few figures...a guy, a gal, maybe a guy and gal Sigma, since it might be easier to see what's happening on a bigger figure. I'm sure it'll be nothing revolutionary and probably relatively unimpressive, but if it helps someone, I'll be happy. ;)

Thanks for the itinerary...that's helpful in fostering my obsessive compulsive control freak nature... :rotfl: :shifty: ..and I was proud of myself for resistig the temptation to ask for one. 7 pm dinner might be late for me to hang out for any length of time with traveling back the same day, but I can play that by ear. Depends on if I have traveling mates or not. It's nothing for me to travel a coupla hours both ways on a day trip and end up home late if I'm by myself.

You guys who are organizing this...thanks!

Don't sell yourself short. I'm sure it will be impressive.

Mac, for the itinerary I posted from last year, keep in mind that we were able to hang out until the park closed (sunset), which is why we didn't start breaking down our setup until around 6 PM. Therefore, we had dinner an hour later at 7 PM.

However, we only can use the hall until 5 PM, so, based on my interpretation of how the hall works, we will need to start packing up our stuff between 4 PM and 4:30 PM so that we're out the door at 5 PM. Therefore, I am tentatively scheduling dinner for 6 PM. So hopefully you'll be able to join us for dinner at this earlier hour.

I just need everyone to bring one or two costumes.

Although we can certainly film in between activities, I may allocate a one- or two-hour block of time for the mini-movie to ensure that this project isn't lost among trades/socializing etc. It depends on how many other finalized activities we have lined up for the picnic.

Also, I guess we're going with the strategy that we'll make up the premise on the day of the picnic based on the costumes that people are bringing?

BTW, if people are bringing costumes, please post which ones you're bringing in this thread.

I don't think it's corny. And since there have not been any other suggestions so far, I will set up a poll to see which diorama shot people would rather do (Season 1 vs. Season 2), if any.

I'm on my way out the door right now. We have all our kids partys in this hall so I just have to find some good perspective pictures. Each table holds 8-10 people and there are 8-10 tables. Now the people who rent the room say it will hold 50-60 people. I'll hopefully be able to post some pics when i get home tonight.

Hey, if you guys are launching an expedition, could you post up the times and who's going? With the family in tow I'm gonna have to pass on this, but I will plan a sidetrip in the timeslot. And make sure you work out the designated driver in advance. :-P

I looked up the Brewery's tour times on Saturdays, which are at 11 AM, Noon, and 1 PM. Although the idea of a field trip sounds pretty cool, I believe the purpose of the picnic is to bring JoeCustoms members together rather than split them up into expeditions... especially if we have attendees potentially traveling from as far away as Connecticut. These tours are also right in the middle of the day, rather than at the beginning or the end, which could disrupt our socializing. Even if everyone wanted to go on the tour, I think it defeats the purpose of booking a hall, a luxury that we have not had in previous meets. In addition, if we all go on the tour, do we really want to leave our stuff behind unattended?

I also thought that perhaps we could set up the field trip tour for Sunday, especially since a couple of us are staying overnight and others are local to the area. However, (but not surprising) there are no Yuengling tours on Sunday.

Blitzkrieg

I agree on all points :-) . I should have been more specific, I was figuring on a Friday or Sunday excursion. I will be bringing the whole family in tow, so I'm just waiting for them to finish thier gameplan before I post up my whole weekend plan. There is talk of forgoing camping this year in favor of the amusement park, so as soon as they let me know I'll post up where I'll be all weekend. Saturday is pretty much blocked off for the joemeet, with a bit of traveltime before and after the meet.

Darkwynter,

Here is Knoebel's Grove website: http://www.knoebels.com/

They do offer camping facilities there... http://www.knoebels.com/family-vacation.asp . Just thought I would mention this as an option for you.

As stated before...Knoebel's is about a 40-45 minute ride from Pottsville.

If you have a AAA membership, you can purchase books of ride tickets at AAA at a discount, there is a AAA office in Pottsville. :-D

DC universe 6 inch figures I need:
Series One Batman (I need the Metamorpho arm)
Hawkwman
Mr. Miracle
Regular mullet Superman

If you can find others for cheap, I would take them too. Let me know what you find.

I still need the Joe comics so if anyone has a comic book store near them you can help me out a lot! I am not very lucky since there are zero comic book stores near me. I think the nearest are in Lewisburg and Scranton!

Anyone need any 25th or Corps figures? My Wal Mart is pretty good at getting them in and I can keep an eye out for them everyday.
