It would be easier for brainstorming purposes if the Tri-Staters are indeed coming to know what costumes they had so we could base the skit/films around the characters easier giving us potentially more to work with. As far as concept think the Public Safety only from Cobras side.... as much as I would love to do some 5 minute or so short film segments I know better than to bite off more than I could chew, though this may give us food for thought for a weekend to make ourselves a movie at some point.

I agree that with the limited time we have, we shouldn't bite off more than we can chew.

Regarding the costumes, one of the Tri-State Vipers has the following costumes from when he started shooting an independent Joe movie: Major Bludd, Cobra Commander, Firefly, Storm Shadow, Cobra Soldier, and a Stinger Driver.

In addition, one of the Tri-State Vipers has a Ripper Drednok costume, which he wore to last year's Joe convention.

Based on my understanding, they will be bringing these costumes to the picnic.

Hope this helps.

Okay guys/gal...tis merely weeks away!!!

Hoping to see you all there!!

This looks to be a Tri-Board meet....we are looking at attendees from Joe Customs, Tri-State Vipers and Cobra Island attending!!

As excited as I am every year for the meet...the idea that people from three boards are coming together at one location has me even more excited!!!!

That said....could we get a roll call of who is definately attending?

I know definates for sure are:

Millsy
Flint
Apacolypse

I know stuff may come up at the last minute and all...which is understood, but to get a rough head count before we decide on just what to bring to the meet "refreshment" wise...I figured a head count would be appropriate.

First of all, thanks to you and Millsy for all of your recruiting efforts on other boards. Without your help, we wouldn't have the potential increase in attendance that we're expecting this year. Also, thanks to Chuckles for plugging the picnic in his signature.

Secondly, unless something catastrophic happens, I will be attending the picnic on May 30th.

I will be attending, as will SilverWynter, DiaperViper, and the wife. We were going to camp out and spend the weekend (go to the park, camping, ect.), but due to cargo space, I think we will just come up for the day. As you have seen before, when I load up the jeep with the dogs and family I have precious little cargo room left. This year I think we will leave the dogs behind and focus on just the meet :). I will be able to arrive earlier, stay later, and most importantly have more room for stuff!

The last few times we found that potluck works really well. Once we have a rough idea of how many are expected some post up what they will bring and others just grab some goodies to share on the way. There is usually too much food to eat! If we do run out we can always order some takeout nearby :).

That being said due to my drive time I will need to get something close to the meet to bring so it is still fresh :). Also I will have to bring SilverWynter her own food due to her celiac disease.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Pot Luck sign up:

DarkWynter: Burgers (most likely a few dozen BK or Wendy's, I'll modify with more if needed)

I'll make a big pot of pork barbecue and rolls if everyone likes it. There are plugs for crock pots so this will actually work.

I'm easy to feed...I like just about anything! I'll await a count later on and decide what to bring. I like the potluck idea. :)

What time do people normally start arriving...or rather, what time can we start arriving, due to the hall reservation? Apologies, I'm probably getting ahead of the game, but I've got quite a trip ahead of me and I may be bringing someone or stopping in on a friend for a visit or overnight stay the night before or of. ;)

I have the hall reserved from 9-5 and I live right across the street, so I'll be there at 9 if not earlier. But the doors will definitely be open at 9 am.

Based on my experience of bringing fresh burgers to last year's picnic, I don't believe BK or Wendy's serves lunch (i.e., burgers) until 10:30 AM (maybe Wendy's opens at 10 AM, not sure). That's the main reason why I didn't show up at Kirby Park until around 11:15 AM last year.

Just giving you a heads up.

If you're bringing burgers, then I can bring soda (a mixture of diet and regular).

As Millsy wrote, a number of people will be at the hall when it opens at 9 AM. Since a number of us (yourself included) are traveling from several hours away, in my yet-to-be-finalized itinerary, I am scheduling the first 1.5 hours (9 AM-10:30 AM) for arrivals/set up/meet-n-greets.

A good and valid point. I will dilvulge more details of my master plan :). I planned on sending the wife on a victuals run at about 11ish :). It will give her a small reprive and let her see if there is anything she might want to check out in the area later that evening. I will try and also bring some munchkins for the early arrivals....no promises there (it is a long drive :) ).

Tis a BK a couple blocks up from the hall...and a Wendy's not too far in the other direction...so we can makes this idea work buddy!

Glad to hear you are coming up...and understand your reasons for not camping up. Maybe next time you can hit the park...I know your family would enjoy it! If you are thinking of other points of interest to just hit for the day...let me know what you are considering and I will find out any/all info I can for you!!
