No worries guys, I'll be there with bells on! Just got a lot on my plate for the next couple days.

Just wanted to let you all know that I consolidated and posted your Wants List on the Tri-State Vipers Website. Hopefully, they'll have some of the items that we're looking for our collections.

Since we have a rough headcount of 20+ people (including family members and Tri-State Vipers), we should give more serious thought to potluck contributions.

I'm using the Current Attendee list posted in this thread to also track attendees' potluck contributions. According to my records, the only contributions posted so far were by Millsy, DarkWynter, and me.

Please post your intended potluck contributions in this thread and I will update the list accordingly.

Thanks,

Blitzkrieg

With this many people showing up like we're going to be eating !
I guess if no one has taken it I'll bring chips/pretzels/dorritios as I'm making a weekend of it at Shanes... so I don't need to be whipping up something in his kitchen...or sucking up fridge space with whatever I might have brought along.

Those snacks have not been taken yet. I will update the list next to your name.

With 20+ people in attendance, it might be a good idea to double up on the basics. That way if something were to come up ( :-P left the food behind to make more room for joes) we are still covered. Things like chips and drinks will be in high demand. Just a thought.

Hey, I also had a thought about kids attending. Can we get a head count on those. My girls are 1 and 8 and will be attending. If there are a lot of kids we should have an area set up just for them. I will gladly bring some loose fodder for them to play with. The kids that have all shown up so far have been very respectfull of our tables and give our customs a respected space, but I think it would be a good idea to give them a space to go where they can play with the joes or other games. This is just a thought in progress so please let me hear your thoughts.

Cobra PSA Ideas:

If Cobra did the Public Service Announcements at the end of every episode:

Plot 1-Person is ignored at a party, ignored at work etc. Instead of GI joe showing up to help with confidence issues Zandar from Cobra comes out of the shadows to show them how usefull it is to be ignored...slacking off at work, stealing etc.

Plot 2-Child is playing with black cat firecrackers or some such thing. Firefly shows up "Blackcats are for sissies! If you want a real bang try this." gives kids stick of dynamite.

Plot 3-
Scenario A: Guy is getting bullied and then is whining about it a Cobra character (which one??) shows up and tells him that that is the natural order of things leaders and followers and that he should join Cobra and have power as a follower.

Scenario BGuy is getting bullied and then is whining about it a Cobra character (which one??) shows up and tells him that if he doesn't like getting bullied he should "sack up" and take charge then he can be the guy in charge.

I'll work on some more over the weekend please feel free to chime in ideas til we pick one or 2 to actually do.

Man yojoe-a-go-go would really get into this I think. Has anyone heard from him?

I like the firecracker on the best.

I got a PM response from him this morning. Unfortunately, he won't be able to attend since he and his wife are expecting their first child in mid-June, and he's worried that through Murphy's Law, if he comes to the picnic, it will be that day that his wife gives birth.

I shall bring brownies....and probably some other snacks.

As Flint said...there really isn't time for myself to eat, I am way too busy at these meets just catching up and talking...great way to spend the day, can't wait for it!!

That...and I save my appetite for the supper afterwards. lol

This one is hilarious. I was :rotfl: when I read this... at work. :shifty: Of the three plotlines, this one is my favorite. Although I am not sure how we will be able to simulate an office in the hall. Perhaps when Millsy posts some pictures in a week or so, we'll have a better idea of the surroundings with which we have to work.

This one is pretty funny as well. Although for this plotline, do we need to actually set off real fireworks? Then again, fireworks are legal in PA. ;-)

I like Scenario A better, the ironic power of being a lemming. :-) I think the generic Cobra soldier costume would work best for this plotline.

Doc Blessed from the Tri-State Vipers (who will be supplying some of the costumes) is working on some Cobra PSAs as well, so that we have a bunch of plotlines to choose from when we actually get together.

Or you do a cut scene to a generic Atomic bomb shot with the Mushroom cloud.
