I had the base body for this since JC.con North lat year when I got it from Hypno Hustler, and I was looking at it yesterday and I was like "geez, that would only take me en hour! Why keep putting it off?"

So I grabbed the dremmel and plugged in my glue gun and boom zap! Another one in the can:

I know the proportions are a touch wonky, but I just love how he looks, so I am going to leave them as is. I only wish that I had this idea in time for the Destro KOS GP, cuz this would have been a great companion piece to my Zartan. A note on articulation - a figure like this does not need to have the full range of motion that regular figures do, as he will always be used in a standing poition. However, I did make his arms and head fully aritulated, as well as retaining the waist swivel.

Image

And that's not just some ordinary MarauderInc brief case he's holding either... It's the infamous MINDBENDER BOMB!

Image

And I am totally stealing Raptor's gig here, the Extensive Enterprises call center:

I lef the walls nondescript because I want to be able to use this room as several different settings as the mood strikes.

So... What say ye?

LOVE this. lol. I hope that my self custom Dr. Bindy was at least partly in the back of your mind, inspiration wise, but whether it was or not, this is super cool. The over the top blood splattering ROCKS. And I hope it makes its way to the gallery, as I'd nominate it for all sorts of JCAs (Just wait til tomorrow to submit it, given the raffle). What is the base figure btw?

The cubicles are all sorts of awesome too. If Raptor did something similar, I must have missed it. Are those playmobile parts or something else? For the back wall, something you can do is make like a cardboard based bulletin board, or a number of them, and have each one decked out with calendars, pictures, memos, etc... for whatever theme you are going for on each. Then you just pop the other board up whenever you want it to be a different set.

Lovely. Although I feel that blood-soaked Mindbender needs a hanky accessory.

Love the Mindbender. I've attempted a similar look for him a few times with no luck, always thought we needed a lab-coat version of him.

It blows your mind. Duh...

Thanks for the input, team. I'm on my phone, so replies will be brief for now...

The base is a McFarlane Monsters Dr Frankenstein.

More later ;-)

I like Mindbender. Only two things would make it better, painting the flesh on his rolled up sleeves white and smearing the blood on the monocle. The flesh on the arms really stands out. Doesn't really make sense since he has the gloves. By smearing the blood on the monocle it will look like it splattered and that he tried to wipe it away.

Raptor's CG call center looks good. I don't know if they'd have Pacman in there but that piece is so cool it would hurt not to use it.

Very diggable. Mindbender as envisioned by Clive Barker or something (well, no black leather bondage gear, so maybe not). I'll have to see if I can scrounge up the extras I might have of his tools so you can pop em on the belt pegs (saw and butcher knife). The addition of the Joe arms really helps to push this one over the top for me.

The call center is nice. What the heck did you make the cubicles out of?

Nice, now it makes me want to dig out my Dr. Frankenstein figure. Like the EE Callcenter, especially the Pac Man game and the air to air missile right next to it.

That is just too funny, oddly enough. The Mindbender custom is a very cool idea. I like all of the accessories and the EE call center is great.

Lovin' the Mindbender. Especially how the "meh" look on his face contrasts to the gore on his lab coat :D

I think that's what got me too. Just another day at the office for him. Like he woke up saying 'time to make the body parts'

Wow. Has it really been that long? Has the world forgotten the awesomeness that is The Cubes? These things are friggin' GREAT. For more on Joe/Cube fun, see Raptor's Evil Empire comics in the monthly Joe Canada newsletters.

For those interested, I still have 2 cubicle sets for sale, $10 each plus shipping... :shifty:

Well that's always been sort of something I've tried to do with Operation:Mindcrime - I do lots of zany crap, but I also try to do some 'realistic' stuff too, like the hazmat suit and the surgical scrubs, and the POW fatigues.

You are totally right. It was always my intention to use that body for Mindbender, but I never imagined the parts together. Once I started piecing it together, I was floored by how nonchalant he looked, covered in blood (the original had quite a bit of blood spatter on it out of the box, I mostly just quadrupled the blood on the upper torso and of course the arms).

Hmm. Can I get a second opinion on the arm flesh? I sort of liked that it was there, like his sleeves rode up and he couldn't be bothered to adjust them - and the same goes to the monocle. None of the spots were so big that he'd have tried to wipe it away, in the opinion of a full time corrective lense wearer. What do you others think on Pluv's points?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Hehe... That was sitting on my dryer and I thought it fell off my Mamba when I hung it, but they were all still there. o I just stuck it in the shot for fun :D

Thanks for the feedback!
