Hard Drive - I think this guy was one of the ugliest new sculpt figures, but he had cool card art, so I tried to duplicate that while toning down the colors.

Rampage - Here's another guy with a crap figure and cool card art. An LBC Firefly with Lando's head and Beachhead's gear.

Rampart - I took tons of inspiration from iwbeta and g_sk1llz for this one. I think the only thing unique about mine is the JvC Recondo head.

Budo - Basically an LBC, but it took me a long time to get that hair piece just the way I wanted it.

The Sarge - I played around with different leg combos before finally coming to this. Roadblock legs with the WWE Sarge's boots glued on.

I should mention that all of these pics are a touch too bright. I'm still learning how to take the best images with our new camera.

These are all great! Lando's a little too recongnizable, but Rampage is still great. Budo works surprisingly well, Hard Drive is a great take on a lousy figure, and Rampart is pretty much perfect. I was never a big Sgt. Slaughter fan, but all the great customs are making me consider trying one.

Can you tell me a little about what parts you used for Hard Drive, the head looks awesome.

Yeah, Rampage is a little too obviously Billy Dee. I tried to find a helmet that would disguise him a bit but nothing would fit over his awesome manly perm.

Hard Drive's parts are:

Head - Airborne, with a JvC Gung Ho cap, a clone trooper antenna for the eyepiece and a Han Solo microphone.
Torso/Arms - TRU 3 Pack Ace
Legs - Green Shirt and either Duke or Flint
Back Pack - Roadblock's, with the Russian lady from Indy IV's scabbard as an antenna

I cut the wrist computer off of Biggs Darklighter's chest, and the belt pouch and silver thing on his chest were salvaged from an inherited box of random parts.

Whoa! -- Don't know how I missed these!

Great job making Hard Drive un-suck -- I'll definitely have to try that.

Rampart is awesome - another character I never really cared for, but I might try my hand after seeing yours.

I agree that the Lando head is a little too recognizable for Rampage, but I think a re-paint of the FF body would go a long way toward mitigating that. As is, he looks like Lando on an FF fig - but maybe giving the figure a green/brown color scheme would take the attention off that.

Budo is friggin' genius. I made my own by just popping a mail-away unmasked SS head onto the comic-pack SS body and called it good. This has me re-thinking that LBC endeavor. The Flash/GS head works perfectly. Very, VERY cool :D

Thanks, Chief.

Glad you dig HD and Rampart, though I can't take any credit for the latter. I basically followed a couple of great customs already on display here.

Regarding Rampage, I was trying to marry the coloring on the card art with the idea (from the file card) that he's such great friends with Beachhead that he dresses just like him. I think Hasbro's file card writer was having a go at the design team for doing up such a half-hearted repaint in the first place. I'll take your color scheme suggestion under advisement though.

As for Budo, I was kinda surprised that the Flash head worked so well too. I hated that head on every fig Hasbro stuck it on, but it's rather versatile for customs.

Great stuff. Especially Rampart. I got to handle G-sk1ll's Rampart in person and I must say yours looks just as great.

On Rampage's head, I got to meet the artist they based the character on, Walter McDaniel on several occassions. Here's a photo:

These all look great. Harddrive is a nice way to make a neat figure based on a crappy one. Using Firefly for Rampage works awesome. Sarge looks nice. I really wish I could find one. The BnB knee pads look great on Budo, as does that head.

If you had the pulled down mask from the Comic Pack Beach Head, you could possibly cover part of Billy Dee's face. That might save the character a bit. And as for the colors, possibly just cover some of lighter grey with either another dark grey or a black and make it a more NIght Ops character.

These are all nice. Nice parts choices and smooth painting.

I really liked the Hard Drive character and it's nice to see the design get salvaged.

Welcome to the board, btw.

Budo is amazing. My favorite of the Batch. Hard Drive looks like a smooth transition to 25th. Rampart looks really good too.

You might be able to use one of the later Lando heads which are smaller instead of the POTF one. I think that would help a lot for finding a helmet that fits.

Every Slaughter custom I see makes me cry because I cna't find one.

These are all very sharp. Hard Drive is a very cool rendition. Rampart is a quality job, inspired by other quality efforts before it. The Sarge is a great melding of different lines, and on Budo, the head choice and the mods to it are both inspired. Really good stuff.

I also really like the parts choices for Rampage, even the head. However, if it were me, I give Billy Dee a haircut and shave that down and sculpt on something a little less bulky. I also agree with the suggestions to make even small paint scheme changes, even if it's just a dark grey wash over the existing scheme, to separate it out from Firefly a bit more.

Really strong post overall.

I really like where you've gone with all of them, but the updates of Hard-drive and Rampart have to be my absolute faves. Great job.
