Elbow pads + death for death's sake =/= "outside the box".

no im not talking about the deaths man you have to see more then that if not there is no point in talking to you about it. have you seen clone wars or SW movies they have had deaths in it.

im talking about the feel of the joes & there looks. they had the classic colors. just more of a up to date look . they had way better attitudes. not all of them had pads on. GH , dial tone, cover girl & a few others didnt have pads. also they stayed true to the history of joe. so you would rather see them in iron man suits ok. them being brainwashed to turn evil. rip cord and scarlet hook up , baroness to be CC sister . the history of joe be rewritten by a non joe fan. Who had to read comics and who knows what ones make g i joe. ok my man. you will have it. its called ROC. I would rather have Res over Roc any day.

Which history of Joe? There's about a dozen completley separate timelines. They don't even all agree on who Cobra Commander is.


What's the feel? The Marvel run, the Devil's Due stuff, and all the cartoons had very different feels to them.

If the G.I. Joe "universe" can incorporate Optimus Prime, Cobra-la, battles in space, robot rebellions, genetically altered troopers, gravity defying ninjas, cyborgs, mental owers, a guy in a big suit, monsters, and all sorts of other wild stuff then a few people in some power suits aren't going to make a world of difference.

(Okay, here's the part where you tell me some of that stuff doesn't "count" as being G.I. Joe even though it most certainly was.)

There's a difference between death for death's sake, ie WE HAVE DEATHS SO WE ARE MATURE, and a good fiction death, which Star Wars would feature.


And yet elbow pads are a defining element of "Resolute style customs". See my point?

They did before. Mega Marines, Star Brigade, Armor-Tech especially. Not to mention the mechs in Valor vs Venom and the Sigma Suits.


Hey, you know what else was written by a non-fan? Resolute. Warren Ellis knew nothing of GIJoe before taking the job.
And also, there's nothing wrong with making changes to the canon. If they want to make Baroness and Rex Lewis siblings, that's fine by me as long as it's done right.

Optimus Prime and Megatron weren't brothers until the live-action movie, which also changed a lot of other things about Transformers, yet it was still a good movie.

ok i think the 80s cartoon & comics where the bases for the Res and thats what i grew up on. anything after say 90 was just fodder.



actually all the bots where. Resolute. Warren Ellis yes but he had a few ppl on his staff that knew and grew up on joe.

also S6 was real bad i hated them in the super human power suits. mechs in Valor vs Venom where vehicles not suits.

also they dodge missiles in Roc and who knows what else. i am saying as a whole Res will be better yes some parts where bad. but not as many as roc so far. You are looking at Res Just parts not as awhole .if you read the review & interview with sommers thats that right there make roc look bad. Yes Res had pads but so does the real military. Also cobra had real guns not water pistols. I just think hasbro would be smart to have Res as the cartoon. while the ppl who like roc can have the movies. that simple.

hasbro can have 2 lines going they do for SW & TF so that will make everyone happy, unless the movie sucks as bad as i think it will be. then we will see what happens.

man with the deths DD was the worse for that. Also you didnt pay attention to the deths as the ones that died went with the story. Zartan & CC are both alive. SS died by Se, bludd was killed to make a point about the new CC he said so in the toon. Bazooka was on guard duty when SS sabotage the Flagg . so try agin. also they will have deaths In roc.

Zartan dies. He is the worst case of death for death's sake. After delivering a Characterization Decay speech, Scarlett kills him.

Cobra Commander dies/disappears after a horrible Cartoon Resolution ending where the bad guy turns out to be an incompetent boob, having a bunker door only openable from the OUTSIDE and making his energy weapon so easily re-aimable. For a more mature take, Cobra Commander sure was the same ineffective villain we saw in the old Joe cartoon.

no i didnt say that. i said i think it was mostly based of the 80s for Res. man you read way to much in to that one. if they did use stuff from the 90s i didnt see it so i said it was fodder.
