Was the tab on the Hasbro cardboard version suppose to go down through a slot in the table?

The brackets on the ends of the net are indeed the clamps that hold the net on to the table. Also note that the white part of the net, is the top.

My brother and I play quite a bit of Table Tennis, so I'm pretty familiar with standard tables. :-)

Yeah that middle tab inserts into the table. On mine, where the folds are on the sides, it keeps the tab from allowing the net to sit flush. That's why I figured it's suppose to stick up like that. Plus due to the detailing on that tab, I figured for sure it didn't go all the way in. But here's a shot from Toy Fair 09:

http://photos.yojoe.com/showphoto.php?p ... 51&cat=660

It is all the way down. The cardboard one that came with mine is just screwed up I guess, which of course is the reason for doing the replacements. So I'll get a redesign done up and post. The legs will be the same, but the table will probably end up having the side parts taken away. I'll use the thicker plastic for the table so it will not even need the side fold down parts. The image will cover the sides however and I may even do something extra for the front and back parts as well.

It's just a design error based on Hasbro's error, but an easy fix. It's just a good thing it's fixed this early so that everything can progress. This will make the table easier to build anyway actually.

Here's the pingpong table with the net lowered and the sides cut. This will be what replaces what's going out now and I should be getting some of these orders out I hope in the coming week or 2. My t-shirt shop has been putting me behind on my projects due to having to work later hours than I want to.

Oh and BTW, here's another image from Justin's page that gave me the idea it as suppose to be the other way with the net:

http://generalsjoes.com/wp-content/gall ... ery/19.jpg

I still have it a little different too in that I have the legs side to side where as most sites show it front to back. I redid how the legs fit together and it's a better design in plastic the way I've got it.

THought I'd make a post. Seems to be an every Sunday thing, and I guess that's not a bad thing to aim for. Anyway...

For those wondering, I am a little behind due to my t-shirt shop. Things got overloaded this week and last week. I had to stay late in the evenings to get stuff done which cut into my build time. Just wanted to say that for those wondering. I've been working solid yesterday and today though.

Another thing, I had some scrap plastic and threw together a neat barricade. I won't actually be selling these though they may show up in a future set if there's a use for them:

Image

Image

Oh, and yeah that's a Chap Mei head on a Duke body. I've been working these desert guys up to have different heads.

What I was posting about the barricades for, I figure I'll throw the images out for those that might want to print some up. These images are to scale. You can use an ink jet and it'll look ok. Glue it on some card stock or something and you'll have a decent barricade:

Image

Anybody with a dio page that wants to post these images, you are welcome to it, just please link back to me. I guess give the D&J Toys page a nod:

http://djtoys.muchtobuy.com

Here's close ups of the barricade mounted on plastic:

Again, these barricades may show up in a future set, but for now this is a "give back" of sorts for those that could use them. They'd actually work well with the Pit.

DUDE - you designing stuff and then posting it on the web for FREE!?

R U CRAZY!?

The D in D&J needs to have a talk with you about how this "business" things works!

How much did you spend on that printing machine to make the COBRA BASE!? Not to mention the FOUR years we both spent on designing the base. How will we ever dig out of the red with you playing Santa Claus!?

If I had the time to be the frontman on this operation I'd be squeezing a penny out of these guys just for the right to read this thread!

At least make these cheap MFs go to the website to download the barricade so they're forced to look at the other products for sale.

*shakin head*

You're TOO NICE Joe! That's no way to run a business. We gotta go Enron on these beyatches!

Hehe, I was just at a point working on the other stuff and had all that scrap. Time frame of making this barricade is like 30 minutes with cutting and putting the images on. Add in print time and I'd have to charge a buck and a quarter per barricade sold individually. I'm pretty sure nobody would want to do that, hehe. Plus I gotta do something for PR for as long as it's taking me to make this stuff. ;-)

If I had my way, we'd only lease them out to you at $30 a month. And your lease rate will increase 15% each year, not to mention a $100 damage waiver deposit.

I mean $70 who the hell approved that price!? I thought this was a partnership, I wanted to charge $210, we didn't even meet half way on that!

Just an update here to let those wondering what happened to their order, I'm shipping the current group now. I had sent out a heads up to the latest group several weeks ago. It's just been one thing after the other keeping me from finishing, but they're going. By next Monday I should have them all out. I did a batch today including several Pit sets. I gotta get a few more boxes to pack the ramaining bases. It requires at least a 23" wide box so that it doesn't get crushed by the mail service.

On a side note, those that I sent the initial Pit set, PM me so I can get a reminder of who needs a new ping pong table now that I'm making them the new way. All I need is a PM, I have your address already.

I'm still without my main PC BTW. I'm posting via laptop for now, and I have my PC at work too for keeping up.

Next batch will be starting up right away and I'll send out the heads up emails for those next on the list!

Cool, glad you like it!

On another note, I haven't forgot the other people that had been contacted. I have 2 more built bases ready to go and 3 unbuilt ones as well. It's been raining like crazy with flash flooding and everything so it's kept me from being able to go out box searching. They're sitting on the kitchen table ready to go so I'll be sending emails out as soon as I can pack them.

A new update is needed to let everyone know what's up currently. I still have 1 base that's complete and will be shipping, 3 unbuilt (for some that wanted to build them), a few replacement parts, and a couple of Pit sets that's suppose to have already shipped. My t-shirt shop has killed me the past 2 weeks. I had to go in today to wrap up a 300 piece order. But anyway, I think I'm back caught up and the mentioned items will be shipping this week if all goes as it should.

I had a little extra time today after getting back home and finished up a new item. Several of us are collecting the He-Man figures and there's nothing really to display them on. I wanted something and now I have it figured out:

Image

Image

This shelf can be expanded to allow more than just 3 sections. I can easily add on as many as needed. I'm putting 2 "key-slot" cuts on the back to allow these to be hung on the wall. This will allow you to "stack" them.

The 3 section shelf will be the cheapest of course, and with each added section it would add tot he cost. That price I haven't figured out yet. I'm still weighing out the material cost. I'll post again I do get a price. I'm aiming for aroun $20

I'm actually thinking about a playset too. A Fright Zone scaled to fit the new figures done in the Cobra Base style. I'll have to get time to try out the idea if it works, then I'll show some "prototype" shots.

Ya know, if you added some torches on the pillars, you might just have yourself a Cobra hallway...

...those could be separate pieces to hang on there to give it more of a 3D look, plus you could try Cobra banners, flags, pennants, etc.
