Okay. Sorry. That was dumb.

Anyway, continuing the trend of figures I never much cared for as a kid, I'm going to shock some folks and say I didn't like Footloose at first. I was kind of pissed, actually, that they were rolling out a new Infantry guy so soon after Grunt. Felt like a dis or something. But, as I got older, I came to appreciate the better-detailed, more realistic and highly versatile sculpt on that figure.

I had customized one out of a 25th Lt. Falcon a while back, but I considered that a placeholder once I heard they were coming out with a new Footloose. Needless to say, the desert version from the recentTRU ROC exclusive wasn't quite what I was expecting.

So I set about making myself a new Footloose out of some of the cool new partws the ROC line has given us. Now my old placeholder is on eBay to make room for this guy:

What do you think?

What's the base figure? I was going to do the same but use the TRU 3-pack Grunt but TRU was sold out of them when I went back to grab a set.

Also, the helmet is awesome! Is that a custom job?

I want details because I fully intend to steal this idea if I can ;)

Damn, that's one sweet custom. Let me know parts OK?

I feel like you do about FL. I got mad Grunt love man. If I wasn't known so much by this nick I'd change it to Grunt.

And besides that, I wanna steal most of the recipe and get an amped up Grunt.

Thanks, guys.

Tan's got the base figure right. TRU exclusive Pit Trooper with the head off the TRU exclusive Footloose and the hands off a Resolute Duke.

The helmet's a Footloose original, boiled and shaped to fit the new head.

The vest is a modified SpyTroops Crosshair accessory and I honestly don't know which ROC figure the backpack came off of. The gun's a Maurauder special with a Chap Mei sling, the launcher was 25th Bazooka's and the removable knife comes from an Eversparkle HQ set.

A little paint was all it took to pull things together.

Glad you dig him.

While I think the desert 5pack is great custom fodder, if it had renditions of the characters like this, it would be selling like wild!

Thanks guys.

I forgot to mention on the parts list that the forearms came off a comic pack Rock n Roll. I'm not a gig fan of the gorilla forearms the Pit Trooper came with.

The only thing I think you could add is a knife sheath on his vest so he won't cut himself when he turns his head. I'd get this figure.

I like it! A simple custom, but says Footloose all the way. Thanks for sharing, and consider the recipe "borrowed" (I am no thief, so won't "steal" it ;-) )

The only painting I had to do on this figure was the tan of the vest, belt, backpack, boots and missile launcher strap.

The flesh colors are all factory.
