a few touched up customs...

First, i took chad_ghosts' awesome LBC Dr. Cortex, added a couple of paint dabs, a few accessories, and came up with: Cortex: Bat Factory Welder






then i decided to dress up my Zemos from NJC #42-- I added the crowns, and put some spots in the fur:

Heinrich (crown made from a yellow zip tie)






Helmut (crown made from gold wire & greenstuff)

Cortex is fun. I don't think he needs the coat, personally.

The Zemo(s) were great before, but the added crowns make a huge difference.

I agree that Cortex probably doesn't need the coat. Seems a little much and does make him look more like a Dreadnok.

I like the crowns on the Zemos. You might want to paint the first crown the same yellow as the rest of the figure.

Helmut is fine but I noticed some purple peaking out form under your gold on his belt. A tip I've found that works great for gold is to give a silver base coat underneath. It gives the gold more metallic bling and cuts down on the amount of coats of gold I have to paint.

regarding Cortex's coat: I actually tried to go for a lab coat idea... and then, when he became a welder, it was more like a shop apron... but i can see dreadnok all over him, too -- like DTC Monkeywrench... which goes against what i was trying to do by painting the hair highlights white & glasses black...

maybe i just need to try and fashion a more apron-ey apron?

pluv, i thought about trying to paint over the yellow to get a more uniform yellow... and fear won out. i saw it forever turning into a 'paint yellow, paint red, paint yellow, paint red' scenario... so, i just let it be "of a different material"
...

also, the purple in the gold you see 'coming through' is actually purple on top... i didn't do a good enough job of washing out my paintbrush between touch ups...

i think i'll give that silver -> gold paint app a try before submitting it to the archive...

maybe i'll try that on the yellow crown, too...
