Zartan’s been a good boy this year, so I decided to give him a little something for Christmas in the form of reinforcements.

First up: Chain Gang…

File Name: Lincoln Sheaves
Birthplace: Downers Grove, IL
Chain Gang was one of the first Americans recruited to the Dreadnoks after Zartan brought his mates over from Australia. He was also the first to be captured, convicted and incarcerated for multiple counts of aggravated assault, destruction of public property and mayhem. To say he spent the next several years in prison would be oversimplifying, as he proved as adept at escaping as he was at utilizing anything he could get his hands on as a bludgeon to ward off attacks by rival gang members during his brief stretches inside.
Buzzer once asked Chain Gang why he always wore his prison jumpsuit, and the answer showed surprising self awareness: “What’s the point? They’ll pick me up and send me back soon enough. Why waste a moment of freedom changing clothes?”

Next comes: Drag-Strip…
Attachment:
DragStrip.jpg
DragStrip.jpg [ 187.4 KiB | Viewed 2214 times ]

File Name: Robert L. Murdock. III
Birthplace: Baltimore, MD
Drag-Strip was a privileged child whose parents encouraged him to pursue his passions and go after what he wanted in life. For his 16th birthday, what he wanted was a Japanese motorcycle. A year later, he had burned through his college fund making modifications to the bike and gambling on himself in illegal street races. When he was caught stealing from his parents to fund his habit, they disowned him and he took to a life of crime, using makeshift hooks on chains and his beloved bike to liberate anything of perceived value from whatever was holding it down.
Drag-Strip has all the earmarks of a classic sociopath. He’s charming, intelligent and can fake the appropriate emotional responses at the right times if bored. But if you ever want to see the façade crack, just touch his motorcycle. As Torch says: “That boy has an unnatural affection for that machine.”

And finally: Machete…
Attachment:
Machete.jpg
Machete.jpg [ 185.98 KiB | Viewed 2214 times ]

File Name: Belico Planass
Birthplace: Road Town, Tortola (British Virgin Islands)
Machete was recruited at the too-young age of 13 by a local drug lord to serve as an enforcer based solely on his abnormally large stature. And while his peers envied his rapid rise through the ranks, he took no joy in the role of hired muscle and found no challenge in the many men he dispatched with his bare hands. It wasn’t until an assassin hired by his boss handed him a machete on a particularly hairy job that a sparkle entered the young man’s eye and a smile crossed his lips. The assassin was Zartan, and he was so impressed by Machete’s natural affinity for the blade that he “bought out” the young man’s contract by making his boss an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Machete never speaks. There are many theories as to why, ranging from a birth defect to some heinous torture inflicted by a rival gang in his youth. But Zartan thinks the truth is simpler: Machete doesn’t speak because he doesn’t care to…and he doesn’t have to.

EDIT 2/15{ I think I found a solution for Chain Gang's hair, so I thought I'd post a pic and get folks' thoughts on the new do. Plus, someone had asked for a clearer pic of Machete, so I took one.

Very cool additions to the 'Noks. They seem like they'd fit right in but are very different from the ones we've seen before.

Very nice, Spin. All of them work great, and that Cade Skywalker head is awesome as a 'Nok.

Dreadnoks are always cool, these ones however are great. The bios for each were well thought out and really bring them to life, increasing the value of the customs. Where did you get the chains for chain gang.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

The recipes are pretty straightforward:

Chain Gang
Head: Best of the 80s Duke
Torso and upper arms: Air Viper from FANG/CLAW pack
Lower arms and upper legs: Red Ninja
Lower Legs: Wild Weasel
Feet: ROC Stormshadow
Chains: Chap Mei and Wolverine Origins accessories

Chain Gang started as a special project for my dio. I needed a prison jumpsuit for Zartan and, after I shot thescenes I made it for, I got depressed that it had turned out so well for just one use. So I made up the character. The screaming Duke head just felt right once the bio was written.

Drag-Strip
Head: Cade Skywalker
Torso and legs: Rex "The Doctor" Lewis (modded with Snow Job ski pole straps for hook chains)
Upper arms: Flint
Lower arms and vest: Mutt Williams
Hooks: Wolverine Origins accessory

This guy was going to be my Highway figure for my re-envisioned C.O.P.S. team, but with all the straps and buckles, he just looked a little too sinister. So I tried the Cade head on him and Drag-Strip was born.

Machete
Head: Burn Out
Vest: Wolverine Origins TRU exclusive biker Logan
Rest of figure: Night Adder
Blade: Chap Mei

I know Machete was an established character in Sigma Six continuity, but I always thought the name was too wicked cool to be wasted on such a lame property. I wanted my version of the character to be just pure menace and mostly mysterious, hence the bio.

I'm really glad these are working for folks.

They're all great, but I really like Machete. His Bio is excellent.

Nice work on all, but hands-down Chain Gang is my favorite. I love to see prison style customs (mainly because they are far and few between).
Machete is kind of hard to see.

Chain Gang is great. You might have to paint his hair a different color because all I see is incarcerated Duke.

Machete is perfect but I agree we need some brighter pics.

Those look great, I just think that Chain Gang should have been orange instead of red, unless that was because of the camera flash. The Dreadnoks are growing larger then ever, soon there will be more 'Noks then Joes and Cobras combined.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I think I'm sold on either repainting Chain Gang's hair or finding him a different head ( I may want to save o-face Duke for some comedic Joes in prison dio down the road).

I'll get some brighter Machete pix up as soon as I've got Chain Gang's noggin resolved.

I'm thinking maybe a Tatum Duke head might work instead, unless you can find one of those Chap Mei Bad Boyz guys with the bald head (Barcode?) and hollow it out...

I thought about suggesting Buzzer's head and painting it, but if you paint it brown it's Gristle and if you paint it black (unplanned Rolling Stones reference) you get Cobra Commander unmasked...

All of them look perfect as Drednoks! The only change I would try is to give Chain Gang a new hair color. Maybe make him a red head. It still looks Duke to me. Win regardless just a minor gripe.
