He didn't really have more than just a cameo and he wasn't crucial to the story so he could have been any character. Like Cover Girl.

Yeah, it's been said here and there that he wouldn't play Gung-Ho. He himself had said he wasn't playing Gung-Ho but rather "a motorcycle-riding Sergeant who's the descendant of Rick O'Connell".

Then a few weeks ago, he actually said that he couldn't be Gung-Ho because the name couldn't clear with Paramount or somesuch thing:

As for Cover Girl, she's always been sort of a non-entity in GIJoe save maybe four or five scenes combined between the Marvel comic and the Sunbow cartoon... so better her than Jinx or Lady Jaye, IMO.

After watching the "Ballad of G.I.*JOE" I think Olivia Wilde would have been awesome for The Baroness, though I can't fault Sienna Miller, she did look the part.
From the same video, Vinnie Jones would have been awesome for Destro. For one thing he has a more imposing figure than Christopher Ekelson and definately had the more baratone voice that is associated with Destro.
In fact, lose the cartoon uniforms (much as I loved them) and pretty much every actor in that video looks the part.

Leena Headly (Sarah Connor) as Lady Jaye
Amy Smart as Cover Girl after a cut and dye job (Hey ARAH had a blonde Cover Girl who was never seen again and the character returned as a red head. It could happen)
Owen Wilson as Footloose
Henry Rollins, Glen Danzig and Flea as Dreadnoks.

Only thing to add is that Scott Ian from Anthrax would make an awesome Dreadnok.

I think your Dreadnoks are all dead on, but I would be unhappy if they were a focal point of any Joe movie. I like your Cover Girl pick too. I'm not sure I get Owen Wilson as Footloose though. Maybe as Chuckles? lol

My knowlege of Footloose is from the cartoon, where he's sort of the hippie/surfer due type, I think Owen Wilson could do that well.
