With Toy Fair starting this weekend I am kinda surprised we have not had any kind of info leaked out by now. Usally there is something leaked out. Is no one going this year? Though with another major snow storm I would not be surprised if Toy Fair does not get moved to a warmer climate.

I wonder if the GI Joe stuff will be all of the same things we saw at the convention, but with new packaging.

It's too bad they don't let real collectors and buyers into the Toy Fair. Give them a question and answer form for each table/line of product and let them comment on it.

That way they can get some feedback about what people like and what might be the hot items, which leads to stuff possibly getting out to the public quicker.

Include sections for 'not a fan, but it's a cool product' kinda things for anything someone doesn't care for or follow.

The new issue of Toyfare hit today with pics of the new MU and Iron Man figures. Someone put up a scan on their facebook page (thefwoosh thread has a link)

Wave 3 2010 of MU is the (mostly) X-men wave that we've seen/heard.

Juggernaut and Archangel look GREAT. Havok looks okay. Kitty uses the Ms. Marvel body.... and eeegggghh she looks OK. Comes with Lockheed though.
The AIM trooper is awesome.
Colossus...I'm meh about him. It looks like the lines on his armor skin might be painted on.

The Iron Man figs have a smaller picture but the 90s armor and the Guardsman look cool. Hulkbuster is meh and the pointy mask is just pointless as we just got that version in the Gigantic Battles pack.

Sites were allowed to send representatives specifically for Hasbro's products. sgcaper will be representing JoeCustoms. KoP is representing TheTerrordrome.com, but also volunteered to keep us posted. I'm sure we'll also see other sites posting stuff too. But the sites don't have access until Saturday. I wouldn't expect anything until then. Probably not until late afternoon at the earliest for info and pics to start leaking out.

I thought there was opportunities for outsiders to show up and look at stuff. Like a screening they do for movies or tv shows.

I really wish it was something like you or I could go there and look around and grade what is being offered. Since I'm not a Transformers fan, I would mark 'pass' on that section of the questionnaire. This would allow Hasbro to see what exactly people liked and were looking forward to, comment on which items were the most impressive and which ones might have multiples purchased of.

This way they might realize that one product they might not have considered

It's a trade show, so really, we're lucky press even gets in. It's all about showing whatever your product for the year is to the retailers, and letting the public in would interfere with that. I know if I were the buyer for TRU or wherever I wouldn't want a bunch of guys wandering around and ogling all the new product, asking fanboy questions, and just generally getting in the way.

One thing I've been wondering about is if Hasbro will change the heads that appeared on the Pursuit of Cobra figures that appeared at the convention. In one of the Q&As they mentioned that future figures would no longer use the actors' "likenesses," so I'm curious if that applied to the stuff they showed (which certainly appeared to use the movie-style heads), or if they meant everything beyond those first few post-movie waves. It doesn't matter either way to me, but it would be interesting to see what they chose to do with the characters' faces.

I'm fairly certain we'll see new heads for anything shown using actor likenesses. If they'd stuck with the ones we've seen, I doubt the line would have been pushed to fall. Whether the heads will be completely new, or re-used from 25th, we'll find out soon. I am willing to bet that Ripcord stays black though. Given that replacing the actors heads would only require three new sculpts (Duke, Ripcord, and Zartan) I think that's the route they'll go. Maybe one extra Duke sculpt so that Arctic Threat Duke can keep his hat . . .

Found the images of the MU and Iron Man figures. Stupid Borders didn't have the new issue of Toy Fare today. Gotta say, I'm disappointed the Vault Guardsman has the skin-tight look going on. If that Hulk Buster is a modified Iron Monger like the version from the previous movie's video game, then I'll be very happy. If it is like the Marvel Legends version with the sculpted on muscle definition, I will be VERY disappointed.

There's a tale out there, maybe an urban legend, I don't know, that one year, quite a few years ago, Toy Fair DID open to the public, and it was a disaster. Collectors and kids all over the place, a complete lack of control, and by the time it was over, a fair number of prototypes had gone missing. That was the end of that. Don't know if the story is legit, but I can see it happening. :-/
