That wave sold out every where...didn't it?

I'm sure that they produced a ton of this wave intending to sell them in stores, before those stores stopped ordering new stuff. I sure there's no way that Hasbro has sold everyone they produced. I'm sure these will show up at TJ Maxx or Ross eventually just like every other recent internet exclusive. Theres just isn't a market big enough online for them to sell them all.

Don't be so sure....pretty sure this assortment got it's production cut short, and that's why it ended up as an online exclusive.

Just keeping score on these multi-packs.

Cobra Environment Packs - Originally an internet exclusive, ended up at Rite-Aid for clearance prices.
Cobra Island Packs - Originally an internet exclusive, ended up at Ross for clearance prices.
Star Wars Joker Squad - Originally an EntertainmentEarth.com exclusive, ended up at Ross for clearance prices.

So what is the future for the Resolute packs that we were supposed to get? I have a feeling it might not be so good.

There would be if the online retailers would open the damn cases and sell them singly, instead of insisting you buy the entire case.

BBTS.com has sold them singily, but at a huge mark up, isn't it bad enough with Ebay scalpers, now we have to deal with on-line retail scalper stores as well. :verymad:

Eh, same with the cobra island sets. Look at how cheap Ross has been selling its for, while BBTS is still pushing for twice that.

Yeah BBTS has really become a let down in the last few years. I wonder if they changed ownership. When they first opened up they had $4 flat shipping, great prices (only a few $ above retail if even), and just overall great deals. Recently though they have become as bad as Entertainment earth and some ebay scalpers out there. Too bad I used to get all of my stuff from them, now I order nothing from them.

I think it might be that they have fewer overall online shopping competitors than in the past. Also, they've gotten bigger and can kinda push people around when it comes to some items.

But yeah I miss the days when it was just $1 or $2 over retail, sadly I've noticed this too. Something about the credit crunch could've affected how they have to order from companies and do more in cash too...but not sure how that'd affect prices as much as the less competition part.

Stopped at Ross, found 'em. Got one each, left one each.

JByrdd, yes, BBTS has sold them singly, but over the many, many times I've checked them, I have never seen the single items (I Want) in stock, and never seen the cases out of stock.

I have no idea about actual numbers, but I'm guessing that there are two factors that explain why Ross can sell the sets for considerably less than BBTS:

(1) Ross is a chain and has greater volume purchasing power than BBTS.
(2) Ross probably worked out some closeout deal with Hasbro for the sets, while BBTS almost certainly bought their stock upon the initial offering when the price was higher.

That doesn't necessarily mean that BBTS isn't selling the sets for a much higher price than they need to make a profit, but I also don't they could sell the sets at $17 each and make much money (if any at all) on them.

Of course, I would love to see Ross apply this purchasing power *here,* as I still haven't found any of the sets at either Ross in town. Thankfully I only want them for extras, but I still want a Joe set for some fodder.

No cobra or joe sets to be had at either of my local Ross stores. One of the two did have *one* Walmart exclusive AT-ST for 19.99 that I picked up which is great since the local Walmarts never dropped the price below full retail.
