I'm just astonished at just how much detail and functionality you're putting in this.

Thanks, Jay. My main goal was to have it so my kids could play with it when it's finished. So there had to be some fun functions to it.

It is looking very good and I can relate to making toys for your kids to play with. My grandson likes the action figures I make him more than the ones I buy him and he loves the custom Defiant shuttle imade (aka the Ghost Runner). Look forward to seeing the finished product.

Another update that doesn't look like much, but took a bit of planning.
Now she has a roof! It's attached with two hinges. And it stays open when in the up, or open, position.

Here's a look at the front gun, which I almost didn't show because it's such an early WIP . . .

Are you going to keep the top clear or is it getting painted? I guess it would be cooler lookign overall to paint it but the clear is cool because you can see everything.

for the top you should get a piece of window tint the matches the res of the color so you can see out of it but not into it.

I ditto everyone else's remarks. Very impressive undertaking. I love the detailing on the inside.

I got a newbie question for you. What are you using to cut our your parts? Exacto Knife, Dremel, or table saw?

Props over all this thing is unreal! Aliens is one of my favorite movies of all time and you're doing it some serious justice.

Have you considered a Lego X-Pod for the forward gun turret?

"Have you considered a Lego X-Pod for the forward gun turret?"

The front gun is finished- got that banged out last night. And it's the first part to see some green paint.

"I got a newbie question for you. What are you using to cut our your parts? Exacto Knife, Dremel, or table saw?"

All of the above and a plexi-cutter that I purchased.

"keep me posted as you go along"

I knew you'd appreciate this one. Thanks, man.

"Are you going to keep the top clear or is it getting painted? "

Yeah, it's getting painted. If it didn't lift I might feel different.

Again, thanks for all the comments and feedback. Makes the whole project worthwhile for me.

Spent another 4 hours on it. Got the windshield done, and the front gun. Also added more detail to the roof and rear . . .
(Also spent another $80 for supplies)

I've told you this already but man this thing looks awesome. The WIPs make it even more cool. Can't wait to see the end product.

Thanks, Sean.
I think I might be posting WIP overload here, so I might hold off till it's finished.
