Wanted to see what I could do with my RA Heavy Duty.
Gave him a new head from a misc figure and helmet from
a Pit Commando (after some modification). His non-spring loaded
gun came with the Resolute Cobra trooper but I had to
clip it somewhat to get it to fit. Backpack is Roc Shipwreck's.

As I was finishing it up, I thought he kinda looked like Captain Power too... (shrugs)

Here's a photo of my "photo booth", someone wanted to see it:

And here are the main shots of Barricade:

Now that is what you call an inspired use of parts. Nicely done. I don't like how the HD body makes him look like a tubby bastard, but that's not your fault. I like the colors a lot. My only negative is that the helmet looks like it rides real high on his noggin, like he's actually looking out from underneath the visor.

I actually don't mind the extra bulk of the HD body, even though I was expecting to while I was waiting for the pictures to load. It works with the head choice. I even like the weaponry, which has to be the only good use of a RoC spring loaded gun as a spring loaded gun I've seen. Great job! I'd love to see a Gears done in this style, too (maybe even to go with one of the new Mechs coming out).

Agreed - great use of the HD body. My only critique is that the boots should probably be a non-metallic color, since they're not supposed to be metal. I now you're trying to capture the look of the original, but gold boots look a little out of place.

Awesome job!

Really nice work.

I'd probably have muted the color scheme some, were it me, but this is a very faithful rendition.

i dig those parts! (storing away for future use)

also, kudos on your photo booth -- it's awesome to see something so 'simple' make such a dramatic difference with your photos!

that should be a reference shot for all new folks (and me) looking to 'wow - up' their photos!

thanks!

Thanks!

FYI the card back w/ the explosion is from a 6" TNA figure.
The hex floor is a printout from an image off of JoeDios.

One thing about the Barricade recipe ... I ALMOST didn't paint the blue...
he looked really good in black and gold.... but I wanted to just try the blue,
to be more accurate I guess.

In hindsight, if someone else tries this, I'd advise to stick w/ the
black and gold.

This is my critique as well. Then again I think the same thing of the original.

Thanks for the comments!

It was hard to get the helmet to fit at all...
as it was, I had to add a little sculpt to the back
of his head to form a "collar" for the helmet to rest on.
I still wanted to see his teeth-gritting chin below the
helmet, so figured it was a compromise.

Here's a side view to better see how close it is:
