This was sort of a "three birds with one stone" project.

First of all, I wanted a Ripcord that wasn't in an Accelerator Suit or a Reactive Armor costume, something I couldn't have from Hasbro since I used their Jungle Ripcord for my Stalker custom. (the cancellation of the Desert one with the jetpack didn't make it likely we'd get one anytime soon either)

Second of all, I did sort of want to bring Ripcord back to his classic roots in some way. Having him in specialized parachuting gear seemed like the best way to go.

And third, I wanted the ROC Para-Viper in my collection, but he didn't really work all that well as a Cobra considering the more "organic armor" look of all the other Cobras in the line.

Body is, obviously, the ROC Para-Viper, as is all the gear. I had to sculpt his belt buckle out of green stuff and make a... something on the back too. I would've made a nice pouch back there but since he has to wear the straps in diving gear, I didn't have enough room to do much of anything. I also trimmed the Cobra sigils off the back of the chute and the helmet, and then painted up the whole body with brown and green camo (there are three shades of green used overall, the belt is a dark olive drab, the body camo is an olive green and the padding and chute details are catachan green). And of course, I had to switch the gear on his hips.
The head is from the Reactive Armor Ripcord since it seemed to match Marlon Wayans' skin color the best. I had to touch up the eyes and chin fuzz, then add the soul patch under his lips. Matching the skin tone on the neck was a pain, but it always is, really...

I'm personally very happy with how he turned out, especially since as I was painting it up I wasn't really sure the camo was going to work out too well.

Thanks for looking!

I like it, although I hate the arm fins. But those are molded on. So good job.

That's a really innovative use for that mold.

I echo the arm-fin hate and would prefer to see some Airborne/Rollbar lowers on there. Otherwise, great job.

I dig it. There are so many great uses for that paratrooper body and this custom puts it to good use.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I'm not big on the arm fins either, but unless I can find some forearms from the TRU 5-pack Duke, I'm afraid they're going to stay that way...
Just what are those fins for anyway?

That is a very cool figure.
The camo work is great and looks like an oak leaf pattern.
