crappy AVAC repaint does not a "Swamp Viper" make... I'm not sure if it was the closest availible tooling Hasbro could grab at the moment they had to put the ROC Sting Raider exclusive into production for TRU or it was pure laziness devoid of ANY creatvity but either way, their Swamp Viper is f'ing awful.

so I made my own. I wanted my Swamp Viper to be scary and look like he's born of and belongs to the swamp/bayou/marsh.

** the Croc Master base was inspired by General Hawk's review of the set. I happened to be reading Justin's write-up the day after I got this Sting Raider and trying to decided if I should make my own version of the trooper.

NFC Your swamp viper is a million times better than what was put out, The head is reaaly cool looking and the croc master /alligator parts are a nice touch to make the figure what it should be

mixed up a few different colors of Pollyscale and Warhammer paints. I'm still amazed how close I got on the gray/brown color.

the head, shoulder harness, and neck are Rum Sleg's, feet are from a Pit Commando, boot sheath 25A Zartan, leg pouches are off a Forces of Valor figure.

Yeah that Rum Sleg's head makes this custom rock hard, plus the paint apps do him justice to, excellent wurk.

Rum Sleg's noggin was already creepy to start with... in this color scheme it's just disturbing IMO.

I like the figure, I really do. The parts use has such a great mix. The coloring is perfect. For me though, it is almost too cool to be a generic Viper. I think this guy would work better as a stand alone character. Maybe as the Swamp Viper's commander or even the Wild Weasel of the swamps.
