I'm really disappointed with how the lab coat turned out. I've worked with masking tape to make things before, but usually in 1:6 scale. Not so much luck with it in 1:18 scale.

Suggestions for the next time I try one?

I don't think the lab coat looks that bad, honestly. I've never really tried making 1:18 clothes before, so I don't really have any suggestions. What is it about the coat you don't like?

It looks like she's wearing a man's suit coat.

So it's not BAD...it just doesn't really read as a lab coat.

Maybe if the coat was longer it would work beter? Possibly see if you can add a little ID tag to it.

I don't know, I think it looks ok. No doubt to me that it's meant to be a lab coat. Cool idea. Never would have thought of using masking tape to attempt clothing.

Thanks for the ideas and comments, everyone. My biggest disappointment for the coat is that it looks too big and puffy.

The next time I try to make one of these I'll work in everyone's ideas. A belt and an ID card would definitely push the look forward.

Thanks again!

Try a belt from a wire twist tie. It will do wonders to keep her female form. (And it will make her look less like Vina from "The Cage")
