my own take on Double Blast (2001) and Mirage (1993/2002).

Double Blast is not a Roadblock cop-out anymore, he's all attitude and all Marine, still a Mr Fix-It type

Mirage wears a Iron Grenadier armor as a trophy of the kill... he's certifiable, actually nuts

Nice work. I'd like to know more about Mirage.

What's really nice about Double Blast is that you took a character, frankly I'd forgotten about him, and made him relevant. And Mirage was another character that needed an edge- and you came through on that.

The armor fits Mirage for some reason and Db looks great maybe give him the removable backwards hat.

Very nice. I like the idea of taking Double Blast and turning him into something and your interpretation is very cool. Like everyone else, I'm intrigued by your take on Mirage and would love to hear more of his particular backstory. And I really like the idea of taking a dead IG's armor as a trophy and using it on the battlefield. It's a great way to get Mirage his high-tech armor without going the Mega Marines or Accelerator Suit route and it's infinitely more awesome, at least in my opinion.

I'm a fan of all those lost/forgotten about 2000-2002 ARAHC Joes, so much potential for character expansions, totally open books. I've long been searching for the right angle to take on all of them to make them all truly individual to stand on their own as late additions to the Joe roster, finally I found the perfect opportunity for Double Blast. He really was just begging for some individuality.

As for Mirage, he's a bit psychotic, no restraint with a hair-trigger temper. Plus he really likes guns. And armor. And MARS makes the very best of both and they might fund the Iron Grenadiers but he can't help but admire the crafstmanship, impressive design, and total effectiveness of the IG arsenal... They're an illegal operation, morally and ethically despicable, and a world threat to fight so he decided to steal a piece of his own gear.

Mirage... was he psychotic when he joined the Joes or did something happen? I like the idea that he took a trophy and you explained why. But would the Joes recruit someone who was psychotic?

he was okay before he joined GIJoe, just a normal Marine with a social side.

...but as with all the Joes, living a life constant depolyment to hotzones where the regular military doesn't usually operate and seeing/doing things most folks would rather not believe, SSgt Baikun just started coming unraveled, a little bit at a time. Off the battlefield, he does have some friends on the team, even in his psychosis he's not totally antisocial but he's definitely more comfortable when he's on mission...
And after a few years of rarely fighting Cobra since most of the missions he was part of happened to be to where the IGs were the bad guys, he's a bit obsessed with black and gold. He wouldn't know a Flak Viper from a Laser Viper, but he sure knows a lot about Iron Anvils, Iron Shadows, Ferrets, and the standard IGs.

"Mirage was a mega marine that lost his wife and kids to a Iron Grenadier weapons demonstration - Wrong place, wrong time. MARS, having so many contracts with the government and knowing where the bodies are buried, was impossible for G.I. Joe to go after. They were too well protected.

Mirage works within the Joe team, but secretly works to attack the MARS corporation head on. Equipping himself with Intel through the Joes, and weapons scavenged from raids on MARS operations both legitimate and covert, he wages a one man war against MARS for justice, and for vengeance."

I do really get a Punisher cross over vibe from the custom and from the writeup. If that was what you were going for, you nailed it.

Combine all parts of the bio and pow you've made Mirage a valid, believable, and bad ass figure.

and being a MARS nut he would come aware of Wraith's gear, perhaps he stumbles across it or manages to replicate it, explains the clear deco one they made as well
