I know a lot of folks are planning to use the forthcoming Jungle Vipers as 25th-style Night Vipers. And I don't really blame you. But the more I see of those finished test shots, the less I like the overall look of those guys. They're just too jungle influenced for me. Almost like something Gilligan and the Professor would've thrown together if the castaways were staging a production of Cobra: The Musical.

So I decided to try and come up with a cheaply/easily replicated recipe for a small squad of my own, less jungly Night Vipers.

Here's where I landed:

What do you guys think?

Interesting. I'm not sold on him as Night Viper, but he's a cool custom regardless.

Dig it. It totally works as a Night Viper. What did you make the helmet from?

I like. And my son asked me, "Can you make me one?". So it's safe to say he likes it too. :-D

I like it. It looks like I would picture a Resolute Night Viper.

Personally I'd like to see more black on the figure itself but overall he looks really good. The smaller helmet with night-ops visor definitely fits the more modern style of gear. I like it better than the giant ARAH helmet.

Parts list por favor?

looks pretty neat to me, the head looks a bit weird (techno viper?) and the neo viper lower arms suck but does good well flowing with the hiss driver legs.I like the color and if he's painted it is done really well, but most Spin Customs are really good :-)

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

The recipe's pretty simple:

Head: C.O.R.P.S. figure
Body: Tiger Force Wild Bill
Gloves and web gear: M.A.R.S. Trooper
Knees and lower legs: H.I.S.S. Driver
Feet: Beach Head
Rifle: Zartan

The only paint on it is on the head, which was originally blue, and the neck.

The most work involved was on the lower arms, which needed to be re-engineered to accept the gloves.

I'm thinking about adding a knife and pistol holster (both black) to the thighs, which might help address the request for more black on the figure.

I hadn't noticed the similarity between this helmet and the Techno Viper's helmet. I kind of like it more, now, given how much the original Night Viper's filecard emphasizes the technology in the helmet.

Anyway, I've got the materials to make four more (but could use a couple more of Zartan's sniper rifle). So I'll post some group shots when finished.

Thanks again.

This is a nice, easily done custom, but it looks like it is missing something(s). I agree a knife (or two) and a pistol would be a definite plus, but maybe some shoulder armor and thigh protectors would give him a little more edge... You know, make this figure a harder looking character or group of characters. Just a thought...

It came with hte first single-carded 25th version and the Hall of Heroes version, I believe.
