Ok, so the Prof here is hardly worth mentioning (EDIT: except for the fact that I totally stole the idea from Spin Doctor's JCA Dio story!) , but I do like the "hover-chair" that I came up with:

Image

Just a Joker Squad head on a SDCC Body - the only work involved was hot-gluing the neck hole. I would have painted his suit - maybe blue or something, but this is my last Destro, so I want to be able to use it for other LBCs as needed.

I was looking for a decent chair for him -- and none of my wheelchairs worked. The Avatar wheelchair is just too small and hella lame. The Playmobil one that I use for my Oracle fig doesn't fit right, and besides - it's hers.

So I was digging through all my crap, then I noticed the chairs scattered around my Terror Drome and got an idea. I have a bunch of extras due to a few eBay lots that I won trying to complete one of my 'Dromes, so I went to work. At first, I was gonna put treads or some type of wheels on the bottom, but that didn't work, so I decided to just make it a hover chair. Glued a clear plastic mix cup underneath so it would sit about 1/4" above the ground, added some paint and a portable "Cerebro" and called it good:

Still can't believe that Hasbro doesn't have this guy in the "to-do" pipeline yet - hopefully we'll see Chuck sooner rather than later.

Cheers!

That looks awesome. And well worth mentioning. Love the chair.

Looking good Dan. Great find with the chair. Works really well for Xaiver's hover chair. The cerebro unit is a great touch that finishes the figure nicely.

WOW I never thought to use that spytroops helmet for cerebro. Definately going to have to steal that now.
Awesome work!

Brilliant use of that piece as a hover chair. Nice looking figure as well. I know what you mean about the wheelchairs. I had to do a huge amount of work to the Playmobil one that I used.

Thanks guys! I'm just glad that I finally have a complete team (well, until that 6-pack comes out, anyway ;) )

Tim - here's Cable (along with Wade and "Bob: Agent of Hydra") - I made him a few months back.

He's my old Nick Fury custom (after I got some SHIELD agents and built my new one.) The eye-thingy was a pain in the ass, but I like how he turned out.

Very nice. Simple, but effective. Did you think of using yellow for the hoverchair? the blue works well, but the hoverchair is yellow in the comics to my knowledge.

I was going to use yellow for my original idea (I had plans to make it look like the comic version), but have you ever painted with yellow? ;-)

Blue just seemed to fit better for this one - and I had a lot more blue than yellow available.

Agreed. I think I'm going to pick up that Joker pack just for the heads. Anyone know much they're running for at TJ Maxx?

Isn't that the same recipe Spin used to make John in his JCA dio? Professor X: Origins, starring JFAK075, coming soon to a theater near you.

Very cool LBC though, and it makes me wish I had multiples of that Destro. At some point they have to re-use the mold right? I refuse to pay $20 for more than the one I got, when the cost also goes toward a figure that doesn't help me, with the ancestor dude.

LOVE the hoverchair. I don't have the same source material as you, but you have convinced me to look for something other than Avatar wheelchair for mine.

Yep, and I totally forgot to give Spinny credit for the idea -- sorry Spin!

No worries on the recipie swipe, Chief. Consider it restitution for my unlicensed use of your image and trademark orneriness in that dio.

;)

I love the innovation at work on the Prof's accessories. Not sure why I didn't think of a hoverchair for mine, but you know I'm going there now.
