Bcost helped me with a set of custom figures and since he's the Featured Customizer this month, I thought I'd share this with the rest of you. Since Bcost did the work, I didn't think it'd be too appropriate to enter it in the regular custom section and take credit for it.

The Custom Flagg Crew

"Wheelhouse" the Helmsman His cap has a small logo of the Flagg as well as its designation.

The crew memebers are made up of Shipwreck v1 with various heads.
I think Wheelhouse's head is a CORPS! head.
The Flight Deck Crew are made up of Tripwire and Flash/Grand Slam torsos and Tripwire heads.
The arms, waists and legs are from the Green Shirts.

Real flight deck crewmen wear a coloured jackets depicting what job they are performing on the flight deck and the wear helmets with ear protection. The Tripwire heads were perfect for this application since they have a full helmet, goggles and the ear phones he has attached to his mine detecting equipment look like hearing protection.

I wish I could have found more Grand Salm/Flash torsos as I think they look better, but the Tripwire torsos look pretty good. My intention was just to paint just the pads, but Tripwire doesn't have pads on the back like the Flash/Grand Slam, so I opted to paint the whole torso. The tape is reflective tape worn on the uniforms so the crew members are seen more easliy at night.

Again, much thanks to Bcost for the paint work.

Sweet!

Between Matthew's ones and these, it gives me some ideas for my own. Plus I have enough Tripwire heads in my fodder bins...

That looks pretty cool. Great use of parts to make a full crew. This photo makes me laugh though. The missile behind him and the figure position, hehe. It's like Big Brawler is in your crew.

These are pretty sharp. A completely different take than what I did, but I love it. I love the consistency with parts, and the paints looks really nice and the colors really pop. Really enjoy these a lot.

These are fantastic! I have been hoarding up Shipwrecks and Cutters to do something similar. I never thought to use the Tripwire heads and Torsos for the flight crew. I might have to steal that idea cuz those look awesome!

Your guys look really good Matthew. When you say the helmet is 86 Slipstream, does that mean you Dremmeled out Slipstream's head and left his helmet behind? That's insane, but boy does it look good. The rest of those customs you have displayed there look good as well, especially Repeater (Susan Boyle anyone?) and the last guy. I'm getting better at the traditional camo like that, but not that good.

Thanks man. You are spot on about the Slipstream helmets. Hollowed out head then had them cast. Pain in the but to find heads that work with them. These were a sort of a paint because of the parts that I used.

I really like the Tripwire head you used. Very similar result, and easier to get. The simplicity of yours is what I really love.

Here's a couple other figures he did for me as well:

Sea Duty Marine and "Wheelhouse" the helmsman.
Image

A Marine on Sea Duty is part of the Security Forces on board Navy ships. One of the roles they play is as a sort of assistant to the ship's captain. I just wanted Bcost to paint the Chuckles torso and arms khaki, but he came up with the idea for the rank insignia on the sleeve, as well as cutting off the ribbons, shooting badges and jump wings from Gung Ho v2's chest. Just a whole bunch of awesome right there, I tell you what. The rest of the figure is made up from Gung Ho v2's legs. I'm not sure whose head that is, but Gung Ho's cover fits it without any modifications, so that's what head I'm using. I just need to touch up the paint on his cover, that's pretty unsat there Devil Dog!
Image

And here's a closer detail of Wheelhouse's cap. Bcost had a custom made cap with the Flagg logo and designation made, took it to NASA and they were able, with the use of Quantum Physics, Wormhole Technology, a microwave oven and Powdered Creamer, shrink it down to a propper size to fit this figure's head. It cost the govenment somewhere in the neighborhood of $8.5 million to do that, but Bcost, being the fine gentleman he is, said he'd cover the cost. The dude is amazing.
