So I had a passable Voltar stand in for a while, but as soon as I saw the new POC HISS Driver, I knew he'd be getting an upgrade.

Finally found the tank again today and picked it up (will probably customize the actual tank at some point) just for this base figure.

I can't decide if I should try to get a hold of a Voltar head and hollow out the helmet for him or if I prefer the more streamlined beret look.

Thoughts?

Next up is Mayhem. Pretty simple, really, but I thought I'd share anyway.

He's not a general in my verse. Just Mayhem. Ranks below Voltar but pretty much commands all of Destro's armored forces. And instead of ex-Russian military, I see him as part of a Russian-Scottish offshoot of the clan McCullen. Hence the Connery head.

What do you guys think?

Both look like solid add ons for the Iron Grenadiers. The use of Connery's head as a member of Destos' army is inspired! Nice job on the two figures.

I have a Voltar that I started but haven't been motivated to finish. I'm totally stealing this idea for the base body once I pick up one of these tanks. Very good idea and well executed.

Where is that vulture from? Is that a vintage one?

That bird came in a Chap Mei/Animal Planet set, I'm pretty sure.

Not digging the Voltar head. His helmet is too iconic to be left out. Otherwise he looks great. What is the bird? Very cool!

I really like your universe's take on Mayhem. It makes him fit without the loss of Voltar. The figure looks good too. I like your use of the Connery head.

Like the new take on Voltar...the only thing I'd change is paint his beard black like the original (looks like brown from the source head in the pics). I was going to suggest painting his beret gold to give homage to the original. However, after a second thought, I decided that would be too "Solid Gold '70's" :shifty: . That take on Mayhem is a great use of the Connery head. Well done.

I've been staring at this POC Hiss Driver for a week now trying to figure out if I should use it for a custom or keep it as is, and you've made that decision much harder. Really clever idea here. I do like his helmeted look, but the beret works for a more modernized/realistic version, and he's otherwise totally recognizable, so I say keep it if you like it.

I always got the feeling that

Voltar was to Destro as Major Bludd was to Cobra.

General Mayhem was more of the de facto head of Destro's Iron Grenadiers, but Voltar was kind of the Special Advisor to Destro.

Like the customs.

I like em both.
The addition of the Connery head really makes the figure special.

Those are both great - I really like the Voltar. I would buy each of those if they sold in stores - great work!

Very nice work. The head I aggree for Voltar is off a bit, but that doesn't make it a bad figure.

I like the beret. Reminds me of the IG Sgt. Major from the Marvel comic. I could see where another IG would have the same look.
