I can't hold this in. I gotta show people.

This is my second round effort for Custom Wars on Bantha Skull.

This round we're making Mad Max.

This is what I have so far.

What I need to do.

Paint the gloves.
Paint and attached the holster.
Make the boot knife sheath.
Add the jacket.

Is this the one on one challenge? I think you're off to a good start here.

Yes it is. I won the previous round, so I moved on. I'm extremely happy with the way he's turning out so far. Everything is falling into place. I'm waiting on a jacket and I should be set from there.

The leg brace is a great touch. Can't wait to see the completed figure. Are you going to give him a dog? Order from Law and Order would be a good replacement for Dog.

I haven't posted any updates here. I Don't know why.

Boot sheath.

Sheath is masking tape. I've been using it for years, but haven't in a long time now...and forgot how big of a pain in the ass it can be.

I changed out the boot knife. I'm happier with this one.

Max's harness with gear. The gear is all removable.

Painted the hands tonight. I was dreading it, but it didn't go too bad actually.

you should try electrical tape - I think it's great to work with, and more durable than masking tape. Just remove the "glue" first with some goo be gone.

Nice start to Max, and I dig the dog.

Hey!
Looks REAL sharp! I would suggest the Marauder "Sawed off double barrel" shotgun (weapon was released specifically BECAUSE of Mad Max!). I can even get the sculptors to "drill" out the barrels (they're in town this week and spend their extra time just "making customs" out of the weapons...so drilling a few barrels is not a big deal). Also, for the boot knife would suggest our "fighting knife with sheath" The blade is not "rubbery" so it won't "bend" away from the leg like the one in the picture and the scabbard can be trimmed to whatever size is needed (then you can cover with some thin electrical tape and get the look you want and still get the functionality).

Just $.02 worth of comments from you local "gun-runner!" :-D

Thanks Dennis. I've used electrical tape in the past and it does have it's uses. I weighed it against the masking tape this time around as well, but felt the masking tape had a better texture to it so I went that route.

Awesome John. Simply Awesome. I actually placed an order yesterday for that gun. I sent you an email regarding the barrel drilling. Also, I did, in fact, use that knife for his boot knife. I trimmed the handle some as I felt it stuck up too far on his leg for my liking.

Thanks again!

I like where you're going with this, I've always loved the Mad Max series and it looks like you're getting all the details. Nice work!

Love the look so far. One of the better MM figures I've seen.
. . .Now the pressure is one 'cause the head will either make it or break it.

Yeah, based on the body alone...wow. Excellent job. Can't wait to see the head!

Yep...This is looking like the perfect Mad Max body! The head will defenitly be a critical choice. Good luck.
