I was recently contacted by a person who wanted to commission me for a custom. He had this picture.

So my mind went to work.

So far I'm just parting things together, and this is what I have.

The legs won't stay. I'm still thinking about what I'm gonna use there. I know I want to use Resolute Duke knees at least. Other than that...I'm still working on it.

I tried to see if the POC Dusty helmet would fit over the gas mask shown, and it doesn't. I may, however, mod it so it's one piece. I'll be looking at that tonight. In the end, I may go with the POC Beachhead gas mask and do some painting/modding to it.

POC Dusty lower legs might work and you wouldn't have to mess with the weird Res Duke boots. Also, using the knee only from Res Duke is sometimes problematic, as the joint pieces are larger/fatter than many, and it's often hard to use them with any legs other than his own.

Just some thoughts. Looks to be coming along nicely.

Making the gasmask and kevlar one piece would probably work.

I'm doing that with an ARAH kevlar that happens to fit a channing tatum duke head with the gas mask face on.

Got to work on this more tonight. I'm probably around 95% done at this point. Little more painting, and a couple of tweaks here and there, and he'll be good.

Finally done.

First, I took a suggestion and added a belt...with some more gear.

I'm very happy with this guy, and I hope my buyer is as well.

So, only a few words will accompany the pictures.

Comparison shot to the pic I was given.

Image

Back view. That thing sticking up on the right is a silencer...that does fit on the barrel of the HK MP5.
Image

See?
Image

Right leg gear.
Image

Left leg gear.
Image

Belt gear. The carbiners were cut from the base figure, and then put together. The frag grenade is glued down, but the gas/smoke grenade is removable.
Image

I haven't shown the head under the helmet yet either.
Image

All his gear. Not too much actually. The vest is no longer removable either.
Image

I noticed that there are some spots on the helmet that I need to touch up. Other than that, he's done. For good.

Thanks Tim. My buyer is ecstatic about him. He hinted at another commission soon as well...so I'm happy as well.
