I've been meaning to do a Conan for some time now. I've seen a few good ones recently and it really made me want to take a stab at everyone's favorite barbarian. I tried to go with a cross between book Conan and movie Conan. This is pretty much done though I may make a few tweaks yet. One thought was adding some tribal body paint (along the lines of Conan the Destroyer) Also anyone know of an easy to find 3 3/4 axe? I just threw a snake in his hand temporarily until I find one.

*****New headband updated 10/20/10*****

Nice job!
For 3 3/4 axes, I'd say:
- BBQ axe
- Dice Axe
- Battle Axe (Motorized Action Pack)

Great work! Not a fan of the character, but they should cast your figure in the new movie vs the twig they got!!

As for the axe, Asphalt has a nice double bladed axe in his store, i have one and it's cool. Here's the link...

I like this. I like the parts and the gear. I have a few small crits:

1) I agree on the headband. It seems out of proportion to everything else
2) I love the waistcoat thing. But it rides so high it seems to emphasize the moob joint. Probably no way to fix that, and I prefer it as is over making a change that would eliminate that belt.
3) the skin tone, at least in this lighting, is a little light for Conan. I'd either make it more dark and red tinted, or maybe better yet do a darker wash to highlight all the sculpted muscle-tone.

Honestly, none of these ideas are critical. Just ideas.

The loin clout is actually book accurate. Whenever they describe his outfits it is always described as a Broad Band covering his abs.

That would be more like a WWE wrestling championship belt type of thing, what the custom is wearing now seems more cerimonial, like Conan the King would be wearing :-/

very neat. I agree with bindy. The skin darkened a little and the headband but otherwise a very nice looking figure, you did good and I really like the belt thing wherever it's from

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was a little on the fence about the headband myself here are some updated pics. I tweaked it. Almost more of a crown or headpiece now and a little closer to scale as well. Thoughts? Also thanks for the heads up on the axes. I will definately be making a trip to asphalt's online store soon.

I'm loving it. I have been a fan of Conan long before the movies. I enjoy him in all media. Just my thing. Now if only we could get a 1:18 line of them. How cool would this be:

or a few done from the Byrne run.

All-around excellent work on this guy. Nothing at all to critique.
