fantastic! i love seeing that wip shot -- really gives a sense of accomplishment to the final !

i just noticed that freddy has one extra blade ... there's not supposed to be a thumb one, right?

Great job on this one.
I couldn't place the head, totally forgot about Blanka :-P

Yeah, Freddy only has the 4 finger blades.

I also had this pegged for a JM custom :shifty:

This is what got one of my votes. Just a really well done custom.

I started working on this custom just with memories from my mind. As you can see in the WIP and result, I made a few mistakes. I thought Freddy had two hands with five fingered claws, but it was one hand with four claw. I found that out right after I primed the parts. CRAP! So I cut off the "grip" hand (which wasn't done that properly anyway) and replaced it with a normal hand, leaving the claws. I was too satisfied with the open hand, so although it had five claws, I didn't change it. Because I had to attach the Hydro-Viper hand to Ripcord's lower arm, this was a good opportunity to try the "make a swivel wrist" thing. Turned out not too bad. The claws were cut from a piece of plastic, like the one that's used on carded figures.
For the torso I needed one without any stuff going on, just a shirt. Salvo's worked for me.
The waist and legs needed to be basic, just a pair of pants with a belt, so I came up with this.
The hat was modified, I dremeled off the piece of rope and the captain stripes.
Blanka's head had this great evil grin so I got rid of his hair and tortured the skin to make it look like the scarred Freddy. Did the same thing with that hand too. Painted it and used a wash + red paint to make it look "bloody scarred".

I couldn't make a serious dio pic, because I'm very bad with photoshop and stuff. Good thing we had cheese!

This was a fun contest. I've actually never seen a "Nightmare On Elmstreet" movie, but I am familiar with Krueger. Well, except for his claws, that is...... :shifty:

I'll be posting the new theme for NJC #56 tomorrow evening or on Saturday morning......

Thanks, guys! I had to eat right after the first post.....
Freddy indeed only has four claws, but you can read above why mine has five.

Very keen paint apps, especially on that sweater.

Well done, indeed.

Great Job. It was especially cool seeing how you did it with the WIP.

definately showing the WIP shows the work and pregress you put into him, nicely done and he was my 2nd choice. The work on the head is so freddy looking and using blanka's was the perfect choice.
Congrats on the win :-D

That was pretty difficult. Thank god there is masking tape, I can recommend it.

I am shocked. I have not been impressed with most ARAH customs for a long while. but man this one is badass. The detail of burnt flesh and the badass of the glove make this the perfect ARAH Krueger..

Well done. Ill take 3.

This needs an ARAH or RAH tag in the Title of the Thread...I very nearly missed it

Awesome work, If you or others hadn't pointed them out...I wouldn't have noticed the Claws or Hand errors...You captured the basic essence of Kruger in plastic, even with only a passing familiarity of the character I'm able to tell exactly who it is.

My only complaint is that the head looks a bit "blocky" I think Blanka's head is naturally cubical...and removing his hair doesn't help any...but you may have been able to narrow down his square jaw a bit...because Kruger's face is a bit more gaunt isn't it?

Also...great parts choices on the body...I'll remember these parts if I need a Civilian look in the future.
