Ugh, I don't even know where to begin with the write-up for this one. Too tired out from taking photo after photo after photo until my digicam stopped being an epic piece of failure.
Long story short, Major Bludd's been a project of mine for a while but I never seemed to have the right combo of parts, until I decided to work from the Street-Viper body I'd previously used for Zartan.
Head is from Slayer 6 Designs, and had to be extensively modded internally because it wouldn't fit on any ball-jointed neck post.

Head woes didn't stop there either, after my initial paint apps I was appalled that the skin tone he had made him look ridiculously Asian, so I had to go over his skin with a different tone, while making sure not to muck up the eye I'd already painted.

Let me know what you guys think!

All cast heads have to be tooled because not all neck balls are the same size. In fact, I believe they say that on their site.

Yeah, it also says they'll come in a variety of plastic colours and are meant to be painted.

Yeah.
The head came in grey. My woes came from the fact that after the flesh paint I initially used dried, it left him looking Asian, so I had to go over everything again with a lighter, slightly pinker flesh paint. The problems I had with it have nothing to do with Tri-Gate themselves but with my own materials.

Skin tones are always a pain, but it looks like you got a good one.

Thanks!

If you want to try it for yourself, it's two layers of Tamiya "Flat Flesh" and one layer of Citadel "Elf Flesh".

Those parts work great for Bludd. The dark blue and brown looks really good together. I might like to see a helmet on him, but he's perfect otherwise.

Not wild about the head...Looks like he got his chin from Jay Lenno or Sgt. Slaughter...combine that with the neck scarf and I think he's looking rather a bit too jowly.

I also think the head might be riding a little bit high...but I don't know that I can ever get that height right either...so I think it really comes down to personal preference and how long you want to fiddle with a custom.

If you aren't going to give him a plate of chest armor...I'd at least add his Trophy Dog tags.

Last thing he needs is his Armored/Robotic arm...You've got a great opportunity to tie it in with that pauldron thing on his Shoulder

Looks pretty good. I'm not feeling the scarf thing though, what's he look like without it and the dog tags in its place?

I'm thinking the same thing.

Thanks for all the comments!

Re: the scarf thing: I used it mainly to hide the scrawny ROC Viper neck underneath. Without the scarf on, the head CAN sit lower on the neck. This is a scarfless shot:

In hindsight, I guess he does look better scarfless.

Re: helmet/armor: I'd love to do some, but I don't really have anything handy that would work. I wanted to use a spare MARS Trooper helmet I had, but sadly the head was too big for the helmet. Not really sure what else can work as either headgear or armor.

Re: Dogtags: I don't have them, and from what I've seen of them I doubt they would look any better here than they did on any Hasbro releases of the Major. Wish I knew how to scratchbuild my own, though.

Not wanting to contradict gi joey but I like him better without the scarf and he definitely needs a helmet.

Needs a vest of some kind, and a gun holster on the thigh.

Contradict away

I agree about the helmet.
