looks much better as sci fi...I don't like the mold to most of the body, has a few good parts and more blah parts but in the sci fi colors he does look nicer

Here's Pursuit of Cobra City Strike Beach Head:

Image

All that gray made him look too much like Firefly so I decided to add some color, specifically, his trademark green. I also painted the Reactive Impact Amor plates gun metal just like all my other Rise of Cobra and Pursuit of Cobra figures. This works well enough alone to make the figure look like "Beach Head" as the photo shows above but I decided to go one stp further:

I painted the pants in tigerstripe camo pattern just like his classic figures.

Now the figure really looks like Beach Head!

they all look great, Beachhead really pops now, lot more interesting looking then the out of package version, plus now it looks a lot more like beach head.

also here is an article about using a salt mask from a modelers forum,
http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/ind ... 1765&st=0&

I use it on vehicle customs, and for munitions, but it might come in handy for some of the digital camo techniques as well.

very nice and much improved. The camo looks really well done like always and it's good that you used lighter green on top with the darker on the pants

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Here's a new one... well, not really, since everybody's done this already.

I finally found a loose Dennis Quaid Hawk figure so I cracked open the 5-pack Zartan for the upper arm. I then added a Wild Bill vest and Law's head and accessories.

wow, Law looks like a factory figure. Well done. And I also really like the POC Beachead mods. I'm actually most fond of the pic with the brown pants still, but I totally understand why you went with the tigerstripe, and you did a great job on it. I think I just like the more solid brown as a contrast to the green. Either way, the mods are awesome.

That Law figure is pure win, with a helping of cool on the side! Great job, and I may "borrow" the recipe...

Nice work on Hit&Run's camo, and I know what you mean about these arms holding things. Hasbro has come a long way but still has not perfected joints for certain poses. Your Law figure came out looking great also!

Yep, that's the way Law oughtta look.

Bonus points for muting the red and blue.

Yeah, muting the colors goes a long way in making Law's original color scheme more palatable. I'm really impressed with your camo painting too.

Very nice. I wouldn't have thought anyone could make a phoned-in kitbash like Hasbro's RoC Sandstorm, for example, look awesome, but by golly, you did! :)
