These are both WIPs for now. Beachhead is about 90% done though.

Beachhead is my favorite Joe character. I don't know why. It might be the mask.

Anyways, this is my second custom of Wayne Sneeden. The first being seen here.

He's pretty much all POC Dusty with the belt modded. I mixed my own color for the green and the grey on the flak vest. The gun might be temporary, or not. I like that style gun and have been wanting to use it on a custom for a while now. His secondary MOS is small arms armorer, so I figured him with an 'out there' type of gun would work.

Easily my favorite Cobra character. I think I have a thing for masked characters. Maybe I should see someone about that.

Anyways.

I went through the same ideas with Firefly as I did with Snake Eyes. I wanted something that was more...real. The POC Firefly is goofy. A cool figure for sure, but goofy. I went through my fodder figures looking for a base body that I could throw a vest on that wouldn't look too bad. I stopped on the RIA body I had started a custom with. I added the POC Shock Trooper vest and head. The head alone on the body was too damn tall...but for some reason adding the vest made it look fine. Next I scoured for legs. The POC Beachhead legs seemed to fit the look I was going for. I removed that stupid wire and the extra mags from his right leg and added a holster. I also removed the shoulder knife from the POC Beachhead and added it to the back of the Shock Trooper vest. I like the gun, but might change it.

Obviously he needs paint. I'm thinking for doing a dark grey with a camo pattern on the legs, but leaving the knew sections the color they are.

Off to a really good start with both.

I like the camo on BH's legs very much. Not so crazy about the combination with that green on the torso, but those legs are awesome!

Beachhead is kind of amazing. Kind of reminds me of a POC version of a mix of the JvsC and VvsV designs.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking too. Nice work. I want to see FF painted.

Both look great so far. I really like your take on Beachhead. I've been trying to make him for my verse and this gives me all kinds of ideas. Can't wait to see them painted up.

UPDATE!!

I did some painting tonight. God, I hate painting. It's THE most tedious part of customizing to me. I can part out ten different figures in a night without flinching, but tell me I have to paint them and I'm done. I plan on adding some black camo to the pants. I'm up in the air about the head. I might leave it as is, but I might paint it black...I don't know. The upper arms still need to be painted black to get rid of the 'weathering' Hasbro added.

Oh yeah...I have pictures too. Let me know if there are areas that I missed on the legs, or places that look wonky.

FF looks better painted sofar, like you said paint the upper arms black but he needs a belt. looks odd with the empty space there. BH looks good but he needs to be rid of he dusty belt

I see what you mean with the belt. I am going to add something to fill in that space. Not sure what yet though.

More painting tonight, and possibly a finished project...

The camera doesn't hide anything. I thought he was done...but now I see many, many places I need to touch up.

I went through every single Marauder weapon I own trying to find something that would fit his character. I finally ended with an M4, but I didn't like the length of it over all. I did some research online and found a few pictures of the gun with a shorter stock, and a shorter barrel. I modded the gun and added a front grip and sight. I need to give it a light silver dry brushing to make it look less like a plastic toy.

This is my modded version with removable silencer.

This is a comparison shot with the base Marauder M4.

looks great so far! i really like the shock trooper head for firefly. I'm not sold on the M4 though- I always pictured firefly with something lighter and more compact- but great mod nonetheless!

Both look great! At first I wasn't crazy about the lighter gray for FFs legs, but with the camo added, I like. Good job on the gun mods, too, though I agree with yojoe300, expecting something lighter and compact.

I like that Firefly, but Beachhead is amazing. It's one of the few times I've liked his character design.

Once you get those touch-ups done on Firefly, I think he's going to be awesome. Love the gray on black camo. It's unique yet distinctly Firefly at the same time.

Beachhead rocks, though I'm with Tanstoys on not feeling that Dusty belt on him.

Also, is it just me, or does POC Dusty have just as much Colonial Marine potential as POC Duke has?
