Not sure why, but I've been on a science geek kick this weekend.

Scalpel has been pieced together for a while, but I was waiting on his shoulder pads to arrive:

I took some liberties with his design, upgrading his wrist blade to be articulated and giving him a more realistic splatter mask:

Then I took yet another swing at Airtight:

For a character I never gave two hoots about, I think he's second only to Bludd in the number of customs I've made of him. For this one, I wanted to have most of the gear be removable:

So what do you guys think?

Scalpel's looking pretty darn cool... at least with his helmet on. :-P

As for Airtight, I'd have to know whether you were aiming for a faithful recreation or a reinterpretation of the original design to judge. The removable chest-rig is nift and very well-done, and the HazMat suit is likewise nicely executed (apart from the choice of helmet), but I can't help but feel he looks a little naked without his long gauntlets and green boots. Again though, if this is your interpretation of the character, I can't really criticise that.

both look really good. i see what plastic yank means about the gloves & boots on airtight though, not a bad combination but would be interesting to see how it would turn out with the long gloves & boots.

for me the head sculpt looks funny, or at least in the pictures it does. something about the hair & hollow cheeks looks funny in the picture, heh. which has nothing to do with the custom or how good it looks overall ;)

Love Scalpel, perfect update.

Is it just me, or does Airtight look kind of like The Fonz?

I mean, without it, he sort of looks like Jim Kirk went a little too far into his cover as a Romulan officer, and then bleached his hair blond for some reason.

Other than that, awesome. I love the use of the M.A.S.S. catalyst continment thingamajig as an NBC device for Airtight as well, and did you sculpt that holster?

scalpel is great, everything about him and I like the larger helmet for him
airtight I hink your previous versions were better, he is lacking in green and has too much yellow. I do like the removable gear though

Both look great! I really like Scalpel though. It's nice to see him with 25th parts.

Thanks, guys.

Both of these were really impulse builds, so I'm glad folks are digging Scalpel so much.

With Airtight, I'm definitely open to adjustments. The helmet is going to get some green paint for sure, but I may lengthen the gloves and swap in some green boots, too(the yellow was an attempt tomake the suit look like it has foot covers).
I'll post some update images when I finish those tweaks.

I really like both of these, ESPECIALLY Airtight! Do you have a parts list for each of these figures? I'd love to see what you started with to get these fine figures...

Nice eye for both of these spin. Really came together nicely. Here are the parts my eyes see

Scalpel
Head: Scalpel
Main figure: Ninja Viper with mods

Airtight
Head: Comic Steeler
Torso: 25th Blowtorch
Arms & Legs: DTC Airtight (GIJCC Exclusive)

Yep, Matthew hit the parts list on the nose, though there are some Flash (Infinite Heroes) feet on Airtight and some Storm Trooper feet on Scalpel.

Scalpel's also got original Scalpel lower arms and the original chest piece and knee pads carved off and grafted on. The visor on his helmet came off a Pit Commando and his wrist blade apparatus is part of a Microman figure accessory with a Buzzer nunchuk axe blade attached.

Both figures are extremely playable. In fact, Airtight uses no paint at all.

Which Infinite Heroes Flash, if you don't mind my asking?

I meant to comment on these the other day. I love that Scalpel. I'm continually impressed by your eye for the right parts for a character. I never would have thought of that base for him and it works perfectly. Did you have to do any painting at all? The helmet maybe?

For Airtight, I like the idea of making a more realistic suit for him, with the foot covers, but I do agree he could use some more green. Nice choice for gear too.

Both are nice. I really like the slight color shift on Scalpel's uniform.
