This custom caused me to say two things that were firsts for me. First is "I really could use a belt sander." and the other is "I just painted nipples on a figure."
This is a custom I've had in the back of my head ever since drbindy posted his EXCAL version of Rock 'n' Roll. A surfer version was something I hadn't done yet and I wanted to see if I could pull it off. The hardest part was crafting the surfboard. Its still not perfect but I'm happy with it. Its simply a couple pieces of styrene glued together, shaped and the edges and points smoothed out with Fixit. I wanted to paint some detailing on it but nothing came to mind so I threw a couple ROC G.I. Joe logos on it (the GI JOE logo is on the bottom but I forgot to shoot it). I'm really happy with how he came out. I'd eventually like to implant some magnets in his feet and the board to pose him but for now he'll just have to balance.

This Adventurer self-custom started with the custom torso from Asphalt. The rest was just putting together the parts and painting it up. As usual I biffed the eyes but the goggles I used to cover them up I think work for the figure. This fills a spot in my self-custom collection that I didn't know I needed to fill and I'm happy with it.

This Captain America armor is a result of some fortunate timing. First I got the Vibranium Armor figure from prozac and started trying to figure out how to paint it more accurately for Cap. Then I saw the wings on the MU Namor figure's ankles and it all came together. I glued the wings to the helmet, applied some paint and now I have a Captain America armor that I can be happy with... until Hasbro puts a more accurate one out.
