I post this vehicle a while back on the main page, before I was familiar with the site, under the name Sardaukar Blade. Never really liked that name so I'm posting it here with a revised name. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Cobra S.H.I.V. (Strategic High-speed Infiltration Vehicle) sorry I'm a sucker for acronyms, reminds me of the good old days.

I liked the Sardaukar Viper so i kept that the same as a tribute to my favorite Si Fi novel.

WOW. Just WOW.

That's a beautiful piece of machinery. How did you make it exactly?
I like the weathering too.

I think I like the pilot even more than the SHIV. That Cobra Sigil on his head is a great idea. I like that it shows with the helmet both on and off.

The base vehicle is the Cobra Ice Saber. I remember seeing this awhile back in the gallery. This is a great looking vehicle and an excellent use of parts. I especially like the variable ride height.

Stunning.

Great use of a Vehicle that's under appreciated, and always broken. I'm going to have to go and see how much of one of these I can piece together...because I love what you've done here....You've totally stuck me with another WIP to start.

I love parts of the Driver...just not the whole thing, The Toxo Viper Torso is a great part, I love the Helmet/head paring...and the Armored CC legs work really well here.

I like the idea of the Cobra sigil going from the helmet and matching underneath...but I think the excecution is a little sloppy...It took me a bit to see that that is what was going on.

Me too, I thought it was supposed to be blood on his face or something.
Anyway, very creative use of the Ice Sabre! Great to see there's still some ARAH love around.

I agree, this is not only technically impressive but it looks like something Destro (or Wile E. Coyote) would have sketched the blueprints for.

Well done.

I guess I will hae to jump on the bandwagon here... Awesome!!

I saw the name and got an idea before seeing the thing and it just seemed to fit right in to what I was thinking. Then to add on that name with it being an acronym and its that much cooler.

I love the idea of Cobra having a vehicle named after a shiv, it seems just like something that they would use. Again making an acronym as well just is icing on the cake for me.

I don't have the knowledge of the parts you used or what you did to them, but even without that, I can tell you this is fantastic. What is the source for the wheels and the articulated legs they attach to?

Have recently been browsing a site that shows sci-fi art for concept ships and vehicles, and this looks like it took 3-D form and drove right off that page.

Wow! First off let me say a big thanks, it's always nice to know ones work is appreciated.

The base vehicle is the Ice Sabre which I felt had a very cool body sculpt but as nova pointed out always broke, I don't think I had it for a week when I broke the tabs that held the front skis off. I still played with it a lot and eventually it ended up in my junk box. Few years back I pulled it out and started tinkering with it.

All other parts, including the turret with firing missiles, are from a mega blocks set that featured a robot that rode a big motorcycle, which transformed into a jet-like thing, sort of like the driod speeders from the movies that shall remain un-named. I started out building a flying vehicle but was inspired by Chris Nolans vision of the Batmobile, and the Dictator, props pluv, thus it became a massive two-wheeled tank-like vehicle. I imagined this thing tearassing down the streets of a war torn city with vipers hanging off the sides, guns blazing, missiles firing; a cloud of dust billowing forth as it slides to a stop! Good times.

Any hoo after some cutting and ample use of epoxy and super glue I had it all together. The pinky-red colour of the wheels and missiles is the original colour of those parts so I went with a Cobra vehicle plus I always felt Cobras vehicles leaned more towards the insane than realistic. I painted it up with some Krylon army paints added a few decals I had from some old gundam models and bashed together a driver.

Its my favortie custom at the moment because I think it came out looking very clean, almost production.

Yeah I didn't get the sigil on the helmet quite as clean as I would have liked, the face one I don't mind, I imagined the Sardaukar Vipers as a fanatical squadron of vipers that would paint their faces with the Cobra symbol before going into battle, so in that regard I liked the "sloppy" look of it.
