Lunar Echo Outpost
"Houston, can you hear me now?"
This project started as part of a group dio. I wanted to do a small listening station that could stand alone along with some smaller filler objects. As it stands now, it is much bigger than my original concept. Part of that was intentional as it had to be the focus now. Mostly, it was an accident. When I packed up the project, I made rough cuts for all the plastic board with the intention of cutting it all to exact dimensions later. Over a year later, I started putting things together forgetting that intention. The original length was only suppose to be as long as the 3 liter bottle roof. It was suppose to be much more cramped on the inside like you would expect a space station that was pre-fabbed and transported by space shuttle to be.
A couple of explanations. The split transparent roof was done to offer some semi-privacy to those stationed there for weeks at a time. The accessory pack Flash backpack is a place holder for one I painted to look like an EKG machine and can't find. The space suit has no head and is just hanging on the wall. The breaker/power supply box was reused from my Mass Device diorama.
The highlights of parts used are as follows:
Legos for entry ramp and power moniter
Christmas lights with JoeDios Hal print out
5 hour energy drinks with gumball machine caps
DC pocket heroes chairs
Gatorade bottle and tv antennae dish
GIJCC parachute
Binder divider and 3 liter soda bottle
Optimus Prime trailer defense unit
Solar panels from garden lights
G-Force computer
Pixar party favors
Bio
Lunar Echo Outpost was one of the first permanent structures erected on the moon. Pre-fabricated on Earth using NASA agency-wide resources, it was transported to the Moon using both the GI Joe Crusader and Defiant space shuttles. Its functions include gaining clearer signals for the DSN*, acting as a local relay for those stationed on the moon and with Earth, and monitoring and intercepting signals.
*Deep Space Network - international network of radio and radar antennas

Z-Force Jammer
About
I based his space suit coloring on the Space Force Space Engineer. I have to credit Matthew for inspiring the use of the TF Action Master parts. I would never have picked them up if it wasn't for his Star Brigade customs.
Parts
Head: Heavy Metal
Torso: Cutter v.2
Arms: Scoop w/ Gundam hands
Waist: Dial-Tone
Thighs: Lightfoot
Feet: Transformers Action Masters Skyfall
Helmet: Imaginext Superman with rifle barrel tip
Bio
With the high cost of space travel and exploration as well as the political ramifications, it was decided by government officials that any colonization of the moon would be an international undertaking. Because the Lunar Echo Outpost was such a vital need for the rest of the colonization project to succeed, the powers that be handpicked who would be a part of it.
The name on top of the list was Dr. Calvin Mondale, PhD. from the United Kingdom's Z-Force. His selection was no coincidence since he is actually an American citizen born and raised in New York City with his PhD from UCLA. It was his contacts in Silicon Valley, specifically NASA's AMES Research Center, that got him on the short list to begin with. That fact he is one of the world's leading communications engineers specializing in electronic warfare along with a outstanding military service record sealed his fate.
Whether setting up new communications devices, repairing damaged radars, or tweaking the coding on some of the installed programs, Jammer has hands in every aspect of the Echo Outpost.

Glenda
About
A long, long time ago former customizing guru Grand Slam mentioned using Captain Power's Corporal Pilot Chase as Glenda. I thought that was a great idea and tracked one down. Mattel did a great job with this line at the time. However, they don't hold up well over time. The arms and legs are made of soft rubbery plastic that turns to mush when ever the temperature goes above 80. Her gun also fell into pieces when I picked it up. I've been meaning to give her RAH articulation for a while now.
Parts
Head, torso, and waist: Capatin Powers, Corporal Pilot Chase
Arms and legs: comic pack Scarlett
Bio
How does a helicopter pilot end up on the moon at a listening outpost? By being the gutsiest and smartest to volunteer. At an age when her friends were taking off their training wheels, Jane Mullighan was taking off in advanced helicopters under her father's approving supervision. She went on to bocame the first female at Argentina's Master Instructor of Heroic Commands. When the message went out that an international team was being put together to colonize the moon, she personally flew from Buenos Aires to Washington DC to submit her paperwork that day.
Glenda, wanted to serve as a pilot on the colonization portion of the project, however her operations experience made her more valuable on the ground. Her ability to think on her feet and adapt to any situation that was thrown her way made her a top candidate. Being an experienced pilot and having handled communications missions was the edge that got her the assignment. At first she thought listening to space would be boring. It has been anything but. Their mission has been filled with complications that have no easy fixes. They can't call IT or run down to Radio Shack if something goes wrong. The threat of alien or Cobra attacks keeps them on their toes since they are a lone outpost miles away from the Lunar Space Station.

Muttnik
PTE dog with gumball machine capsule with sculpting materials
Star Wars Battle Droid backpack
Realizing how isolated Echo Outpost was going to be, Psyche Out thought it would be best to assign a dog to keep team members company to help with their mental state and moral. At first they wanted to use one of the K9's already on the Joe roster, but as well trained as those dogs were, they couldn't hold up to the necessary confinements and rigors of space travel. Following the Soviet space program, Psyche Out selected several female pound mutts for military training. Those who passed moved onto space training and then whittled down during the space testing phase where the K9's were subjected to a battery of G-force tests, pressurization tests, zero gravity tests, and tight confinement tests. Ultimately, Muttnik was chosen because of her overall demeanor and ease to work with.
Jammer Log Entry - "You haven't seen anything until you've seen Muttnik bouncing along like Pepe LePew as happy and content as anything, but also watchful for any danger that might be lurking. Even in a space suit, she can see and hear better than we can. To say she's been helpful is an understatement. She carries tools and has been a third and sometimes fourth hand to me. I can't imagine doing this work without her."
