This was my entry into the JoeCustoms Create an Original Character Custom Contest. He was originally going to be something else but, thankfully, I scrapped that idea.

I modded a Coil Trooper helmet so the visor could open and close. I carefully cut out the visor section and then used pins to secure it into holes I drilled in the helmet. I wanted the bike to have hidden compartments for his pistols so I constructed the panels on the sides using green stuff, styrene, and wire.

Since he's a courier, he needed to have something to deliver. I gave him 3 cases: one filled with nano warheads, a HK-G11 that breaks down and fits into the case, and a bomb. I made a rack with tie downs (flex rex) for the bike that holds one case.

Part List:
Head - ROC Heavy Duty
Torso - ROC Storm Shadow
Legs - City Strike Snake-Eyes
Helmet - Coil Trooper modded
Pistols - ROC Helix
Cases - ROC Baroness modded
HK-G11 - ROC Helix modded
Bomb - Para Viper pouch, Firefly C4, Darth Vader panel, VvV Radio, wire
Bike - 1:18 Maisto Yamaha modded

Nice work. It's what the Coil Troopers should have been.

Very cool.

My favourite part is the opening flaps that conceal his pistols. Thats a great feature.

Excellent paint. love the fire effects all around. This guy looks like The Wraith (old 80's movie) but with a motorcycle. Superb!

Same here, those flames are very cool. Did you use an existing tutorial? Link please, otherwise make us a new tutorial! ;)

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the feedback.

Here's a quick fire painting tutorial. It's a little larger scale than I used on Red Line but it's the same technique.

You'll need at least red, orange, and yellow. I used Testors Model Masters Acryl paints: Aircraft Interior Black, Insignia Red, International Orange, and Zinc Chromate Yellow.

Image

I painted the surface black first.

Image

Then using the red paint, I outlined the flames sort of in a wave pattern. Lots of curves and also leaving some flames separated. It might help to paint a line of red across the bottom and then branch the flames from there. I'm not trying to paint the flame shapes exactly as I want them. I'm letting the red paint on the brush go where it wants and then making the flames from that.

Image

Next I added the orange. Make sure to leave more red showing around the edges as you go towards the top of the flames.

Image

I finished the flames with the yellow. Again, use more of the color at the bottom. You should be using less paint as you change colors.

Image

It looks even better on textured areas because you can dry brush the colors on for the highlights of the flames. You could go one step further adding white as the final highlight but it's not entirely neccessary.

This thing really is amazing. Ditto the parts everyone else loves, and I also love the modular rifle with case. How did you do the case liner?

And I have to add, I think if more than 5 pics had been eligible for the contest you'd have won. I didn't have anything in my 6th pic that wasn't already visible in the first 5. The cases, bike flaps, etc... here really really shine. Many ideas to be had from this custom. Really a brilliant piece of work.
