I'm totally in, I'll try to get some stuff together. That image I posted earlier, i think would be awesome shrunk down for a terror drome Screen. That is the type of art i am more looking for, the vehicle battle scenes, more than the comic images, but at this point I am into anything that helps with my customs and updates some old, dated screens.

Flight Pod Landing/Launch Station is ready to go. I bought sheets of blue plastic to make these work, and they work well now. There's several shots on the D&J Toys Facebook page:

Here's a few for those that don't do Facebook:

They should be up on the D&J Toys page later tonight.

I had hoped to put it up tonight, but the site I'm hosted on has been updating their server. Looks like they're doing something again. I can load my page but not log in to edit. It'll be up eventually.

Price for it will be $13 for 1 and 2 or more priced at $12 each.

Update about the gliders...

Kirk Bozigian had pointed me in a direction with what the original gliders were and I have been trying to find something since. I think I've come up with a material that is like it and maybe even better. It's still foam. The plastic is just not something that will work. In a situation like the glider, the weight of the fins will slowly distort the glider if it were on display. It would get a bend down the center. Foam will not do that and if this foam I found will work as well as I think it will, it'll be great. It's basically like RC airplane stuff.

I will have to hand build a press to stamp these out and figure out what should be done about the stickers. But anyway I needed to give an update now that I'm closer to getting this accomplished. The idea will be to provided replacement foam for people that already have the clip and then also I'll have a solid kit with the clip included. The clip I make will be modified and allow any figure to fit.

The landing stations are very nicely done. simple and vibrant, much like all of your items.

Thanks,... yeah I just need to add them to the site. They almost went up last night but it took too long loading the images with more still to load. Maybe by Sunday.

I'm in the middle of making parts for 30 bases and ran out of ink on one of the 8 print heads. I got a replacement cartridge and will be trying to finish that up before I get back to the page. Trying hard to complete the current standing list and have a few extra on hand!

Just wanted to say that I got a package in the mail of Friday from J_Man and was jubilant as I opened it up.

He sent me one of the Flight Pod bases. Not sure how to describe the plastic. It's not like the stuff found in air vents in cars and it doesn't feel like anything toy related. When I showed it to my Mom, she said it felt it seemed similar to those resin figures she saw at the Dollar General/Family Dollar.

I'm *not* saying it feels cheap or of poor quality. That is not the case. Just trying to describe the texture.

The base is really well put together and as long as you don't set something heavy on it or drop it on a hard floor, it should last a long time.

Thanx to J_Man, for sending me the base.

Hehe, glad you like it. Yeah it's a material that's like part polyurithane and part foam. It's a material that is used in screen printing to do signs. I've printed on them and applied vinyl lettering to several full sheets before. It's designed to have some weight, but be of a lighter weight so it doesn't pull out of the rivets or screws people put them up with.

Also on the plus side, it's a heck of a lot easier to work with than something such as Styrene. Although Styrene has it's uses too, but this stuff I'm using just has an over all use for many things. I've even used it and built a drain on an airconditioner. The plastic held up longer than the air conditioner did, haha. It's also flame resistant.

I don't plan on testing that last part, I'll leave that up to the Firebat or the Trouble Bubbles when they launch.

I was gonna send you a PM about the base, but I might as well mention some observations I noticed.

-I do think you can get away with using a smaller box to ship it. I set it inside one of those 7 x 7 x 6 squarish priority mail boxes and there was still a ton of room. A smaller box would also cut down on the amount of packing materials. If you were to use the 7x7x6 box, you could probably send two of them together.

-I also think the steps don't have to be glued on. First it would fit into a square box and second, if the base is dropped and landed right on the steps it wouldn't break at the joint between steps and base.

-This might be up to each owner, but I'm thinking about some kind of soft rubber *feet* to put on the bottom of the legs. Bare plastic on shelf/table surface could slide and go over the edge, especially if bumped or a pet decides to play. Adding the feet would cause friction, in addition to ease of contact on surface.

Are you doing all blue or will you make any white/gray to match each style of Trouble Bubble? Or even a red one for the Firebat and baby blue for the one that came with Air Raid.

I know, more ideas... :)

For now I was just doing the blue and I guess white. I bought a special sheet of material in blue for it, and while it does come in other colors, I'd need a big demand to buy more colors. It ain't cheap. It can be painted so I might go that direction if necessary.

I was back and forth on the steps, just like the little clip think to fit on Flight Pods. The steps could be a part that sits on it's own and maybe I should include the option on the order form so people can select if they don't want the steps glued. Have it come glued if the option isn't selected.

Yeah the box I used was just one I had from the last He-Man stuff. I generally get smaller boxes to ship most stuff, other than the Cobra Base. I quickly learned early on to use something bulky with tons of newspaper for padding. This shipment was on my dollar, so I didn't worry too much about it.

a few more ideas:

Hangars(aso could be a warehouse, factory, motor pool)( like this: http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/showima ... euser=1507 just smaller to be shipped and modular to be able to combine multiples of them)

Air traffic control tower(agian not to scale, just joescaled) I would buy quite a few of these.

a barracs (just basically a romm with three plain walls,a roof, and some kind of realistic looking floor)

A small to meduim sized dock(for things like devilfishes and sharcs, or possibly a moray or pte patrol boat)

it would also be cool if you could do some other small dioramas like a cutout(like a submarine conning tower or an engine room to a ship, a control roomfor launching icbm's or commanding troops and other things)

Part of this goes with an idea CabanaJack has been wanting to do. He's got a great display idea using a PIt diorama setup. It can be done, but he's got a lot going on in his life right now. That idea I'll hold off on until he's ready.

As far as actual full out hangers. I can see this beng something I might tackle eventually. I need to start vacuforming to really get something nice. I wouldn't want to just glue up 4 pieces of plastic and spray paint, or put a sticker design on it. I'd probably make a roof, 2 side walls and both front and back. The stickers would only be to lay out certain markings.

Same as above. I'd probably wait until I can vacuform something like this. a square tube with a box on top and stickers applied would look cheap. It would need some detail as well as an interior. Over all I've known I'll have to eventually move to vacuforming to do some of the really good ideas eventually.

This might could be done simple. THe "dollhouse" idea might work. Somthing like this would be more about what you put inside rather than the item it's self. All that the barracs would need is just to be a nice background.

This would probably be real easy to do but it would lean toward, would it be better to vacuform the wood deck or would a sticker design be enough. I kind o lean towards vacuforming here too. I could probably press detail into the long flat piece that would be the dock, but I don't know. I might try something eventually with this and see how it looks.

Lots of designs sitting on my computer, hehe. I do have an ice base I'm probably going to introduce soon. I think everybody will like it. It's going o be the size oft he Cobra Base but less pieces so I can bring the cost down. It'll be something in the same idea as the Cobra Base with a "launching" missile.

Sounds awesome, the better, well, the better.

thats totally sweet that this can be done sometime in the future, I know a few other people interested in this(especially those that collect 1/18 planes)

Yep, very simple. Just some plain walls, and enough space for some bunkbeds and or cots from marauder/PTE, and some printed tile floor, and you would have an easy sell.

if you or somebody you know could laser cut balsa, you could have iot in the basic dimension, then scribe wood for another option for this.

Can't wait to see it! It already sounds awesome!

Also, are you able to "upgrade" the pegboard display that you have, so the floor is larger(in depth) and 2 matching walls with no pegboard(one on each side of the pegboard)

Pm me if that is possible and a price. Thanks!

one more thing I forgot to mention but would like, is the doors and roof from the stinger/vamp mk.2 molded in a green similar to the original vamp or in black to go on it, I think they look naked without it
