Yeah the Frost Giant cost less, has more articulation and has a 4" scale figure included. Yet Mattel claimed that Tytus would have cost more than the already high dollar of $40. Tytus would have been a great figure.

So it's a shortpack deal AV? Sucks. I was hoping that it would be different. Exclusives are a pain in the ass really, especially in scalper central. Cool score though.

To be fair, the Frost Giant uses mostly old tooling, so they can charge less, same thing with it actually being sold at retail. Not to say I wouldn't like a more articulated Tytus, but I don't think Mattel was exaggerating about the cost. And Cap, he's not shortpacked, it's a 4 set case with two of each set in it, I don't expect these to be all that hard to get long run, though the Frost Giant will be the more sought after of the two. Hell, I'm considering getting another one myself.

Yep, that's how Mattel wants us to think hehe.

I figure eventually these will be like the Wal-Mart packs and Galactus. I do eventually want a Frost Giant.

Kamakura and I hit about 4 Wal-marts this past weekend and came up empty looking for these. We saw the shelf tag at all the stores but no figures.

I had the original Icon Thor fig so I know the mold should have a working waist swivel, but this Frostie can't do squat there. Anybody else got a frozen waist? And yeah, if I could find more I'd probably get another 2 and mod their faces and outfits to individualize them a bit.

I found the 2 packs and I was wondering when I missed Robot Thor. I mean he's cool looking and all but when was that in the comics?

But not in the issue included in that set. I can't recall if it's seen before or later than that fight, but there's a scene where Reed is working on Clor and we see he's a cyborg, with the fleshy bits being cloned from Thor.

I thought he was in that issue, or at least Clor's hammer in Black Goliath is?

Clor is in the included issue, it's just not shown that he's a cyborg; hence the confusion over that. Clor showed up in a couple issues of Thor and/or Siege; and that's all else I've seen or heard of him.

Clor was in some issues of Avengers: The Initative, where he took on the name Ragnarok. According to Wikipedia he was destroyed during Siege by Thor (in the Thor title), which must have been during the time I wasn't reading Thor, since I don't remember it at all.

Oh ok well thats good to know. Thanks for the info as I was confused as to a Robo-Thor it looks cool but I don't need the giant figure so not going to get it unless it goes on clearance or I can find it in a trade.

Finally got around to modding my Frostie with some proper fur. Also got the waist cracked so it swivels nicely. I slipped my x-acto in the seam after having removed the loincloth.
