Found Cable & Cyke today -- REALLY disliking the SHS-style feet. Makes it impossible to shorten the legs with any ease. Sure, with Cable you can do as AV suggests and use the kneepad thingies to hide the mods, but that might not be viable with future characters/customs depending on the engineering. I think that we're starting to fall into the era of "too much articulation" with these guys -- and we're not far from them just being one big floppy mess (kinda like the later Marvel Legends and SHS figs were.) -- Now I'm just waiting for Hasbro to start adding articulated fingers & toes...
But yeah, Cable being taller than Thor & Colossus is a no-go for me. And his left arm seems way too fragile. It's like Hasbro decided that for every home run on this figure (the headsculpt, the accessories, etc), they had to jack something up to even it out. Cyclops, despite the "LASER BLAST" feet, is still pretty awesome, sculpt-wise -- and I think he's the perfect base for a Hal Jordan custom. My only real complaint (other than the feet - did I mention that?) is that his webgear is too short for his body (kinda like the upcoming POC Cobra Troop) -- looks stupid when there is a little band of blue between his belt and his panties. So he'll need some work, too.
I've already glued the non-Hope chestplate into place on my Cable -- wonder if there's any market for the Hope "accessory"
EDIT: Here you go, Spinny -- I shaved about 3/16" off the top of his boots (any more and it would have really jacked up the proportions). He's still a giant, but at least he's on-par with the other tall dudes in the line. Still, shouldn't have had to do it at all - and the knee pads only just barely cover up the surgery - without them, it looks like total dog "LASER BLAST". Effing Hasbro!
I also added the "glowing eye" effect from my previous Cable custom (who looks like a dwarf next to this guy now.) -- Let's call him done.
-- I really need to finish that Colossus custom one of these days....
