So I managed to find a couple of Apocalypse figs last night on the way home from work, and realized that 'Pocy looked WAY too stubby. Even in his Age of Apocalypse outfit, he wasn't this chunky (although, that does give me an idea for a custom...), so I quickly went to work on trying to "fix" him.
Swapped out his mid-thighs with those of a pack-in Legends Wolverine (came with an X-men car like 7-8 years ago) and found what I think is the "close-enough" solution:
I was going to ditch his stupid shoulder pads and try to make a more traditional version (like the '93 Toy Biz version I've been using as my default until today), but then realized that a giant "A" on your belt is just as stupid, and with the longer legs, the shoulder pads aren't nearly as ridiculous-looking.
I would have liked to lengthen his torso a bit, but I wasn't in the mood for major surgery. Pulling his belt further down to expose his mid-torso will just have to do for now.
With the other power-hitters:
He's not really that knock-kneed -- his legs actually line up almost perfectly, I just can't pose worth a crap and didn't want to go back and re-shoot the pics.
And the whole reason I even bothered:
Next up:
And possibly:
Cheers!
